FRIDAY JUNE 26th - Durham, NC Your next dance floor appointment has been scheduled! Night Therapy x Somatic House Co. take over Rubies bringing a heavy weight lineup of local selectors alongside stunning visuals by @crystalbeth.art Night Therapy has always been about the impact a night out dancing can have on escaping the stress of the day, so coming together with Somatic House Collective feels like it was meant to be. Somatic therapy is a science-backed approach based on the idea that stress is deeply tied to the nervous system, and physical awareness and movement can be used to help relieve stress that talk therapy alone can’t fix. Dance away the day @night.thrpy In service to the dancefloor @somatichouseco ⏰: 10pm-2am 📍: 347 W Main Street by @night.thrpy

One of the most chilling things I saw in the aftermath of the hurricane in Swannanoa, where my brother lives, was the spray paint on cars and houses. It really gives a glimpse into the harsh reality of the rescue and recovery efforts as well as the sheer destruction. If you don’t know this is how the teams would communicate information about what has been checked for bodies. Especially important as much of that area still is without water, power, and cell service. We drove down this road for miles and it just didn’t stop. Entire neighborhoods and businesses either physically destroyed or contaminated by biohazardous mud from ruptured sewer lines and chemical spills. We went up to volunteer and helped my brother and his neighborhood with hooking up generators, picking up trash, food/water distribution and whatever else we could, it truly felt like even with the massive amount of people doing heroic work there the surface has barely been scratched on the road to recovery. We want to do anything else we can to help out and after being inspired by so many other artists, @crystalbeth.art and I decided that all profits (only expense is paying previously booked artists, not ourselves) from this Fridays @night.thrpy anniversary show will be donated specifically to the recovery efforts in Swannanoa. Many places in WNC were hit hard but this is an especially important area to us because of our family there and bc it’s a relatively low income area that even with more funds is likely to never fully recover. While we did have some hesitations about fundraising with a party of all things in the wake of this tragedy, we already had this event planned so if we can make some good come out of it we believe it aligns with our values. @night.thrpy has always been about the value of providing a safe space to escape the difficulties of the world outside the dancefloor, and if we can help collect relief funds too that’s a huge bonus. We hope you agree and that you’ll join us for our biggest show yet and party with a purpose 🖤. 10$ at the door, no presale. Please share if you can! by @night.thrpy

GIRLS NIGHT 2 TOMORROW! This is a handwritten message to remind you of your upcoming femme-focused appointment of Night Therapy. One of the goals of Night Therapy is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to spread the joy that comes from sharing their favorite tunes to open ears. It’s a fulfilling, contagious feeling that infects everyone who’s around it and having the means, tech, and skill to share that feeling is one of the main motivators that I’ve realized since starting this project. But, in spreading that opportunity it is important to be mindful of the fact that DJing has been historically male dominated. Being explicit and intentional with making space for non male-centric performances is an actualization of that intention. Doing so helps to bring our values to the dancefloor and helps us all to heal with a little bit of Night Therapy. This girls night has a surprise lineup being announced tomorrow, but rest assured you will not want to miss by @night.thrpy
NEW SCULPTURE DEBUT SOON We’ve put so much work into designing and building a massive visual art installation that will be making its debut at the next appointment (way crazier than the one in the vid). It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen and we are so proud of it. The Charlotte heavy hitters @diskullofficial and @lemonzzz__ will also be here to make their Night Therapy debuts, two homies who have also been putting in crazy work putting NC EDM on the map! It’ll be a night to remember, come share the euphoria with us at @rubiesonfivepoints 6/28 by @night.thrpy
