I’ll start first: I think hobbyists and professionals should stick to different types of advice content, especially when it comes to social media!! Hobbyists shouldn’t feel the pressure to consistently post or go “viral” and professionals should seek work/advertising/portfolio advice by others in their specific field. For the sake of everyone’s mental health & efforts!

One of my favorite stickers I’ve made so far!! ❤️‍🩹

Based on a crochet keychain made by the lovely @cat_astro.fisika , I sketched out a simplified version of the design traditionally & edited on #clipstudiopaint to colorize & fix some stray lines.

A quick one for one of my fav traditional illustrations I’ve done so far!! #artistsoninstagram #sketchbook #drawwithme #traditionalart #pencilart by @nightlexi

I’ve been seeing a lot of artists talk about ACEOs lately, and I’ve wanted to dive into originals for a while. But haven’t had the financial ability to splurge on materials (since I want to work with acrylic paint & markers on canvas... which is not the cheapest choice lol).

My quick solution was to do a few sketch-less illustrations using materials I already had (black & white acrylic markers on photo paper), and because I think everyone deserves cool original art, I’ll be taking them to events with me & letting you all pay what you want!!

It’s up to you 🫵 to value an original piece of art and make it yours. I’d love to hear your thought process as it happens too! Do you consider the time it took to create it? The aesthetics? Surface coverage? Material cost? Demand? Your budget? I’m incredibly curious! As long as you justify the price within your standards, I’ll accept it!

This won’t be a bidding war, so don’t worry about offering the most money. I want you to critically assess what the art should cost (in your opinion), and let your mind explore the possibilities in every piece you come across afterwards!

Some of the illustrations are matching duos, others are individual pieces, none of them are perfect (since I’m free-handing with no sketch, lol). Each has been only made once and I haven’t scanned them nor will I ever make prints of them! I’m only posting pictures online as an archive.

You can find these alongside the rest of my merch (prints, stickers, pins etc) at Medieval Market this weekend (May 23-24), at @thirstydragoninn . Each original is signed with my signature & handle, numbered, and dated! #originalart #traditionalart #artistsoninstagram #originalpainting #oneofakind by @nightlexi
