“With Larsen Strings, it’s a little bit less about violin playing and so much more about music making.”

We are delighted to welcome violinist Niklas Walentin as a Larsen Artist. ✨

With more than 25 international music awards, 11 albums and performances at venues including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall and the Mariinsky Theater, Niklas has established an international career as both a soloist and chamber musician. 🎶

A triple prize winner at the 9th Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition, Niklas has also received the Carl Nielsen Award and the Carl Nielsen Society’s Award of Honour for his work with Carl Nielsen’s music.

Alongside his performances, Niklas works as a tutor at masterclasses and as artistic director for several international concert series and festivals. He plays a J. F. Pressenda, bought and loaned to him by the Augustinus Foundation. 🎻

Niklas performs with Il Cannone Silver for Violin - and we are very excited to welcome him to the Larsen family.

✨ GRAND FINALE CONCERT - PART II. ✨

FCA concluded this year with an extravagant concert with the festival theme “Fantastic Andersen”.
For the occasion Andersens poems that was put to music by several Nordic composers, had been arranged for string orchestra by the French Cyrille Lehn. The whole evening was hosted by Danish Designer @soerenleschmidt and aired on Danish Radio and later France Musique.

✨SECOND HALF✨

The second half started with nothing less than a world premiere of FCA co-founder @jeanbaptistedoulcet’s “Wings, Feathers & Diamonds” inspired by the Andersen tale “The Nightingale” - performed by FCA Orchestra led by @hannahhowardandresen 🎻✨

Then as a transition the orchestra played “hist, hvor veien slaar en Bugt” by Gebauer arr. by Cyrille Lehn.

Leading us to the second big piece of the concert - Brahms Piano Quintet op. 34 with FCA Professors @jeanbaptistedoulcet, @niklaswalentin, @anna_agafia, @gnerifrancoise & @bjorg_lewis continuing the story of Thumbelina.
