Modern sport #fencing has deep roots in history. Just look at the parry system! These defensive blade movements were once a matter of life and death. 🗡️ #Fynn understands the logic behind them from his coach @anatolij8911 , but realizing that #epees were once real weapons…? That sends a chill down his spine. 😨 What about you? Would you still #fence if it meant real duels with your life on the line and what is your favorite parry? Drop your answer in the comments! ⬇️ #uhlmannfencing #FynnTheFencingBear #FencingFynn #FencingLife #fencingchoices by @ninagudim_oslo
Maintaining distance is one of the first things you learn in fencing. There are 3 types and every #fencer must master them. But is that the whole truth? 🤔 Today, #Fynn faces a new challenge from his coach @anatoliy8911 and discovers a surprising paradox about distance. Can he adapt and overcome? What’s the most important skill in #fencing ? Cast your vote and let’s discuss in the comments! 💬 #uhlmannfencing #FynnTheFencingBear #FencingFynn #FencingLife #fencingchoices by @ninagudim_oslo
Coordination between arms and legs in #fencing can be tricky for beginners, but #Fynn and his coach @anatoliy8911 never give up! 💪 The principle of coordination in fencing goes way back to the age of noble knights, swords, armor, horses and epic tournaments. 🏰⚔️ It’s a legacy of strength, precision and determination, something to inspire you when training feels tough. 💥 What motivates you to keep going during a tough training session? Let us know in the comments! 🗨️ #uhlmannfencing #FynnTheFencingBear #FencingFynn #FencingLife #FencingChoices by @ninagudim_oslo
How can fencers move so fast on the #fencing piste? #Fynn faces a new challenge: Learning how to hold the correct #EnGarde position. This stance is what makes #fencers so quick, but it feels pretty unnatural for our bodies! Meanwhile, coach @anatoliy8911 is dealing with a common problem: What should a coach do when students look for answers elsewhere and come back with questions that leave even the coach speechless? 😯 We’d love to hear your opinion! Where do you go for extra tips? 🤔 #uhlmannfencing #FynnTheFencingBear #FencingFynn #FencingLife #FencingChoices by @ninagudim_oslo
#Fynn and his coach @anatoliy8911 are facing the ultimate challenge every #fencing beginner encounters: getting the arm (or more specifically, the tip of the blade!) to move before the legs. But perhaps the real challenge for both fencers and coaches is how to stay focused over the long hours of practice... 🤔 What do you think? What was the most difficult, when you’ve started with fencing? Share your experiences and advice with us and comment. #uhlmannfencing #FynnTheFencingBear #FencingFynn #FencingLife #FencingChoices #fechten #escrime #esgrima #scherma #фехтование by @ninagudim_oslo
