A little bit of summer, a little bit of fall.

The last tomatoes are still coming in, and the rosemary is finding its way into almost everything.

This is my favourite stretch of the season: bright produce alongside the first slow, cozy dishes.

Fall produce, in all its strange and beautiful forms.

Wild mushrooms, late tomatoes, squash, chicories and roots; ingredients that make the shift into cooler days feel pretty welcome.

These are the building blocks for the next few weeks at Nº8 Provisions. by @no8provisions

This week’s starting point: wild chanterelles, peak-season tomatoes, fennel and plenty of great local produce & proteins.

The menu always takes shape around what’s tasting best right now; ingredients with enough character and provenance that they don’t need much manipulation at all.

We keep the cooking straightforward, build in a few delicious details and turn it all into food that works for the week ahead. by @no8provisions

There’s some downright dreamy produce at the markets, and the chanterelles are plentiful in the mushroom patch. Look for all of these lovely and nutritious ingredients in this Monday’s menu - dropping very shortly! by @no8provisions

As the days get shorter and the nights a little cooler, we’re shifting into harvest season, one of our favourite times of year.

The farms are overflowing, wild mushrooms are beginning to appear, and some of the best organic produce of the season is at its peak.

We’ll be making the most of all of it on this week’s No.8 Provisions menu.

Recent dispatches from @vivelevegfarm - the rhythm of the season has reached a fever pitch, with so many of our favourite things at their peak.

Grateful for the occasional day spent out here, lending a hand with the harvest, transplanting, and preparing beds for whatever comes next.

A good reminder of just how much work happens before any of it reaches our kitchen. by @no8provisions

“Hey Phil! Just to give you a bit of feedback, I’m really really loving the food.

I don’t think I’ve felt healthier in weeks. Super high-quality, fantastic entrees and vegetables and super tasty healthy snacks. All fantastic.

I’ve definitely cut back on my dining out when I have your food in the fridge. Portion sizes are generous, it takes me about a week to get through all of the food.

I particularly like the items that need re-warming in the oven, I have a Breville countertop air fryer Pro oven, that is perfect for the foods.

The cost is super fair given the quality and craftsmanship in the food.

I saw that you sold out this week, and I’m very happy for you. You deserve all the success that you can get! I’ve recommended you to a few of my friends, who are willing to pay for quality and craftsmanship.”

Heirloom tomatoes and peaches played a central role in this past week’s menu—tomatoes pan-roasted for breakfast, then halved and slowly cooked into our summer succotash, with peaches folded into creamy overnight oats. Peak summer produce, prepared simply and with intention. by @no8provisions
