The artist guiding our lab:

Johnny is a dancer, dj & pedagogue based in Salzburg whose focus lies on improvisation & community building.
Martin Kilvady & Bruno Caverna are his main teachers and he is part of the “Just a Jam” crew.
He takes on many roles in the field of dance and is particularly interested in dance as a tool for physical liberation and social change. by @circustanzlabor

SHARING GRAVITY

The two week “Sharing Gravity” lab will provide questions and strategies towards the relationships between your own body, another body and gravity.
At the core of the research lie a bunch of tools coming from “Play-Fight”, a practice that was developed by my teacher Bruno Caverna and is itself rooted in Capoeira, Systema and Contact-Improvisation.
I will throw in additional spices from my other lines of work like release technique or clubbing and am very curious what you, the participants will bring to the table!
Keywords are: relating, body-to-body communication, boundaries, structural integrity, state of falling

"What usually happens..." is an open level dance improvisation workshop.

In this workshop I offer my perspective(s) on how we all make decisions and some patterns that I have observed in my last 10 years of dancing, moving and living. We will apply and experience these underlying patterns in the form of improvised dancing. There is no prior experience needed.
