Come make almost 60 homemade cinnamon rolls with me for Nonna’s Fridge Roadside Bakery — featuring special guest commentary from my husband and kids, who apparently have a LOT of opinions about my baking operation. 😂 There’s something extra sweet about baking with the sounds of my family in the background — little voices asking questions, my husband chiming in, everyone making me laugh, and somehow all these cinnamon rolls were actually getting finished in the middle of it all. It may be a little chaotic, but this is exactly what Nonna’s Fridge is all about: homemade food, family gathered together, lots of laughter, and making memories in the process. 🤍 And yes… all cinnamon rolls were made from scratch. And yes… my kitchen smelled absolutely delicious. If you could smell this video, you’d already be on your way to Nonna’s Fridge. 😂 📍 Nonna’s Fridge Roadside Bakery Freshly baked. Made with love. And occasionally supervised by three tiny quality-control managers. 🍞🤎 #NonnasFridge #RoadsideBakery #CinnamonRolls #BakingFromScratch #HomeBakery by @nonnasfridge
Is your sourdough starter READY… or has it already gone too far? Knowing when to use your starter can make a BIG difference in the rise and texture of your sourdough loaves! Here’s what I look for 👇 ⚠️ An over-risen starter: • Lots and LOTS of tiny bubbles across the surface • Very runny consistency • A noticeably sour smell • Has lost some of that structure and tension ✨ A healthy starter that’s ready to use: • Larger bubbles visible underneath the surface • Has tension and structure • Clings to the spoon instead of immediately running off • Looks active, airy and strong Timing your starter at its peak means stronger fermentation and can help give your sourdough loaves that beautiful rise we’re all looking for. 🤎 Save this Reel for your next sourdough bake! 🍞 #Sourdough #SourdoughStarter #SourdoughTips #SourdoughBaking #SourdoughBread by @nonnasfridge
🚨 NONNA’S FRIDGE GOT RAIDED… AND THEY LEFT WITH THE EVIDENCE. 👮‍♂️🍪 Apparently the reports of dangerously good sourdough and suspicious amounts of butter were enough to warrant an investigation. 😂 Thankfully, no arrests were made… but several cookies and loaves were taken into custody. And at this rate, I’m starting to think Nonna’s Fridge is officially under surveillance. 👀😂 In all seriousness, we LOVE seeing our local officers stop by and support our little roadside bakery! Thank you for everything you do to keep our community safe. 🩷 And as a little thank-you from Nonna’s Fridge: 👮‍♀️🚓 All on-duty law enforcement officers get $2 off their purchase! Because if you’re protecting the neighborhood, Nonna’s making sure you don’t do it hungry. 😂🍪 and may God continue to bless and protect our boys in blue! 🖤💙 #NonnasFridge #RoadsideBakery #SupportLocal #PortCharlotte #BackTheBlue by @nonnasfridge
SOMEONE TOOK MY $5 COOKIE ACROSS THE ATLANTIC OCEAN?! 😭🍪✈️ No, seriously. I almost couldn’t believe it when I got this video. 🥹 A customer sent me this from LONDON, ENGLAND. 🇬🇧 And yes… that’s one of MY S’mores Cookies sightseeing in London!! I think we can all agree that regular cinnamon rolls are delicious… but what if we got a little more creative? 👀 I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen, and I think I may have just found three new favorites! 🍋🫐 Lemon Blueberry White Chocolate – The perfect balance of sweet and tart, with creamy white chocolate in every bite. 🍫 Nutella – Rich, gooey, chocolate-hazelnut goodness tucked into every swirl. 🍊 Orange – A fresh, citrusy spin on the classic cinnamon roll that you didn’t know you needed! Of course, I had to cut them all open so you could see what’s going on inside. 🤤 Here’s the problem… I genuinely can’t decide which one I like best, so I’m leaving that up to YOU! All three are making their debut at Nonna’s Fridge this weekend! Everything is made from scratch, in small batches, right here in my kitchen. ❤️ 📍 258 Reading St. NW, Port Charlotte, FL 33952 ⏰ Friday & Sunday | 9 AM – 7:30 PM 🎃 CLOSED Saturday, October 31st for Halloween! 🧈✨ Did you know there’s actual SCIENCE behind browning butter?! What starts as ordinary butter transforms into a rich, golden, nutty masterpiece—and it’s all thanks to a little kitchen chemistry! 👩‍🍳🔬 As butter heats up, the water evaporates, the milk solids begin to toast, and something called the Maillard reaction takes place. This is what creates those deliciously deep, caramel-like, nutty flavors we all love! But here’s the trick: there’s a fine line between perfectly browned butter and burnt butter! 🔥 In this reel, I’m breaking down each stage of browning butter, the science behind what’s happening, and the visual cues to watch for so you can get it just right every time! At Nonna’s Fridge, we believe understanding the why behind baking makes you an even better baker. ❤️ 📌 SAVE this video for the next time you’re browning butter! 🥖 Follow Nonna’s Fridge for more from-scratch baking tips, kitchen science, and old-fashioned recipes! #NonnasFridge #BrownButter #BakingScience #BakingTips #FromScratchBaking by @nonnasfridge
