Two years, and I still can’t believe how beautiful this life feels with you, Jake Mann.

Life is wilder brighter and more fun than I ever could have imagined. Being with such a loving, kind, caring, patient, creative, thoughtful, funny, and, did I mention, wildly handsome partner, has shown me support I didn’t know existed in this world.

Jake Mann, you are my navigator in life. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You are guiding me toward a beauty I always saw ahead but it’s is so much more clear with you by my side. Cheers to 2 years and many more to come. I’m beyond words to get to walk this life with you Jake Mann. To grow together and see how we can support each other through our struggles and accomplishments. I love you more than words can say. I look forward to spending my life showing you how much you mean to me.

Happy anniversary ❤️❤️❤️ by @cherrygram802

July recap and oh boy was it a party! We moseyed up the DLRT and rode singletrack all the way to the surprise #Hootenanny at a top secret location, deep in the woods. Beverages, endless food and new friends awaited after a long, sweaty, day of laughs. After staying up later than the moon, we boogied back to town to cool off in the river and revive ourselves with bloody Mary’s from @rmutruckee .

Thanks to any and all of you whom choose to come on these rides. We do not release too much information on these routes as they are subject to change as well as the occasional surprise along the way. Thanks for trusting us! We love you and can’t wait to see what the next couple of months have in store for us 🤘🏽😉

Until then, pedal on!

(And no, @c0linlarkin ‘s front tire did not touch the ground for more than a minute all weekend)

We found snow, mud, sunshine and good times on our May journey into the Sierra. The endless joy that bicycles bring us is unmatched and they will continue to make us tick until we can’t pedal. Cheers to bikes and more adventures!

And speaking of more adventures, next Saturday, June 29th, we will be setting out on yet another overnighter. So come on out, pack up your rig, bring a silly attitude, and let’s go have some two-wheeled fun!

We first interviewed @notjakemann of @truckeebikepackingcollective in Episode 11 right before he embarked on a two-month #bikepacking journey from #Truckee to #Bellingham, Washington. In Episode 28, @pow_bot and @trail_whisperer catch up with Jake and hear all the good times, scary times, wet times and confusing times he had, including harrowing encounters with skunks and toothless rednecks, abundant cats, and friendly folks happy to accommodate a stinky #mountainbiker who raised nearly $8,000 for @worldbicyclerelief , funding nearly 50 bikes for people in third world countries. The boys also give some listener shout outs, reflect on the first season of Mind the Track, chat about more bear encounters in Sierra County, Reno’s shrinking homeless population, Truckee’s increasing cost of living woes, more Hunga Tonga theories and Snoop Dogg’s Snow Sizzle My Dizzle Powderrific Snow Report. Rate, review and subscribe at Apple, Spotify and YouTube. Supported by @sendy_app . #mindthetrack #mindthetrackpodcast taken in Truckee, California by @cherrygram802

After a month of long days in the saddle, drinking as much coffee as possible and many roadblocks, I have finally landed in Port Townsend, Washington! My good friend Danny ( @parkinglotpoacher ) joined me at the Oregon/Washington border and I was beyond grateful to share the experience with such an awesome travel companion. The past month has been nothing short of a good time and has grown my appreciation for the biking community even more than before.

Only one thing remains unfinished; and that’s the fundraiser. I am currently 25% to my goal which means that we have raised enough money to change 25 lives forever! Since we are not quite at the goal yet, I am going to continue living on and riding my bike through August, raising awareness of what @worldbicyclerelief ‘s mission is.

Please consider reading, educating yourself and spreading the word about how easy it can be to change someone’s life forever. So, stay in and make dinner and take a night off from going out and take the time to change lives! Endless thanks to everyone that has donated already and has been following along and learning about what I am doing.

If anyone is interested in following me daily through @garminoutdoor , it’s a fun, interactive way to be a part of the experience! Just send me your email and I’ll add ya to the list. Donations appreciated but not necessary.

Cheers to 2 more months on the Karate Monkey 🤘🏽

Life on a bicycle,
simple, sometimes a struggle and always with a smile.
A slowed down perspective and perception.
Vulnerability, comfortable discomfort, reassurance of how hospitable and amazing humans can be to each other.
Pure joy.
The reality is that this is reality,
infinite possibilities.

The last few weeks were life changing, eye opening and heart warming. A full cup is an understatement. Jake called me 2 weeks ago right as I was finishing up a job. He told me to get in my truck and come meet him to #bikepack from White Salmon to Olympia. Little did I know at the time that I would be lured into the simple life of living off a bike and would continue to ride with him through the final stretch of his journey to Port Townsend. I wasn’t sure how I was going to get back to white salmon but something told me it would all work out. And that something being Jake. I’m forever thankful for this person and friendship and I’m very grateful to be able to go on these spontaneous adventures.

If this is all new to you here’s a quick summary. Jake set off on his bike from Truckee CA in early June and has been biking his way North mainly on back roads and single track for over a month. He’s started a fundraiser through @worldbicyclerelief and is working towards raising 15k to donate to the nonprofit which provides durable reliable bicycles for rural communities in need of better transportation.

The journey isn’t over for @notjakemann he will continue to live off of his bike for the next few months exploring Washington, meeting new people and following whatever path falls into place. The fundraiser is still rolling as is the wheels of his bicycle. If you’d like to help out you can donate to the link in his bio or just share this post or his previous posts with others. Anything helps 🙏🫶🚲 by @cherrygram802

Oregon: you’ve been thoroughly enjoyed and I thank you for showing me all of your beauty. You were full of reroutes and detours but you still landed me in an amazing spot each night. Jumping from volcano to volcano has been such a treat and was not the plan but I am stoked it is working out in such a way!

Shout out to Oregon for being a rad, welcoming place full of down to earth humans, wild landscapes and remote riding. And shout out to everyone that has helped me along the way, donated money/spread the word about the fundraiser and has personally sent a couple bucks for a beer here and there. I am endlessly grateful for all of you. Your texts, voice memos, and videos that you have sent me keep me going and sometimes even bring a tear to my eye.

On to Washington 🤘🏽 by @cherrygram802

What an amazing two weeks on the road so far! It has been a great learning experience as I routed from Truckee to Bend myself by studying online maps through @ridewithgps . However, this led me to several dead ends due to high water, bridges out, private roads and roads that haven’t been cleaned up from this winter. The first leg of the journey has kept me on my toes and forced me to reroute on the fly, reminding me to listen to my gut.

The days in the saddle have been long and challenging at times. But the advice from Michael McCoy, whom we ran into on the Great Divide in 2020, ran through my head. “Ride your own ride”. It is so cliché but hits home every time. It reminds me me to stop at the little mom and pop’s stores and to take in any and all views for an extra second. I truly am honored to be out here doing what I am doing and stoked on the money raised this far for @worldbicyclerelief and I know we can raise even more to make a change!

Please feel free to share information about the fundraiser and spread awareness by educating yourselves through the @worldbicyclerelief website!

See ya down the road 🚲🤘🏽 taken in Bend, Oregon by @cherrygram802
