POSTS STORIES REELS

ENGLAND IS MINE is out in paperback today ⚡️

Thank you to everyone who has supported the book over the past 12 months. It means the world. I’ve enjoyed the best moments of my life and made some wonderful new friends x

In an East London borough, two teenagers search for a sense of identity and belonging amid a wave of online radicalisation and extremism. College student David survives through music and gaming. Attacked by his classmates for the controversial on-stage comments of his musical idol Karl Williams, he retreats into an online world of far-right ideologies. Hassan, too, is alienated from his friends, who drink, smoke weed and mock his volunteer work at the local mosque. As the young men struggle to find a path through a hostile-seeming world, their fates become tragically, catastrophically intertwined.

ENGLAND IS MINE reviewed in the Observer, the Financial Times, Prospect Magazine, the Spectator, the Guardian and the Daily Mail ⚡️

‘Nuanced and remarkably assured … England is Mine offers a searing indictment of the factionalism and marginalisation that grip 21st-century Britain’ OBSERVER

‘Never didactic and always committed to untangling the emotional reasons that young men become radicalised … a debut of subtle intelligence and artistry’ FINANCIAL TIMES

‘Elegantly pinpoints how people are dehumanised in modern England – first by other people and then by themselves’ PROSPECT MAGAZINE

’Thrilling … Padamsee has produced a darkly humorous and highly topical novel … an entirely relatable story about the desire to belong and to be heard’ SPECTATOR

‘Padamsee tackles difficult issues – cancel culture, freedom of speech, online radicalism and neo-nazism, masculinity, racial identity, and herd mentality – with a deftness rare for debuts’ GUARDIAN

‘I was gripped by this original story about online radicalisation, wounded masculinity, disaffected youth and a desperate search for identity … Brilliant’ DAILY MAIL

I’ll be talking about my book Lost Boys at Backstory with the brilliant novelist Nicolas Padamsee on 5th May.

Come along and learn all about the masculinity hustle, discover how you too can be a masculinity demagogue, or just come and get tipsy with literary types who don’t get out enough.
