🦔Hedgehog🧤 Hedgehog was doing just fine in his little den. Then one morning— “Where are my gloves? I’m sure I put them in the cupboard… What if it gets cold? How am I supposed to go outside? That meadow is a long way off, and my paws will freeze!” He had a warm scarf, but a scarf wasn’t enough. Cold weather meant gloves. Then he spotted his mushroom basket. “Oh! My gloves!” There they were, right in the basket. Hedgehog stared at them. “Wait… If my gloves are in the basket… where are all my mushrooms?” #Hedgehog #HedgehogStory #KidsPoetry #PoetryForKids #ChildrensPoetry by @nt.tales
💀Día de Muertos in Mexico 🌞 One of Mexico’s most colorful and distinctive traditions, Día de Muertos has deep roots in Indigenous customs that, over the centuries, became intertwined with the Catholic observances of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. The main celebrations take place on November 1 and 2. In many parts of Mexico, November 1 is traditionally dedicated to children who have died — los angelitos, or “little angels” — while November 2 honors adults. According to tradition, the spirits of loved ones return for a visit. And their families make sure they receive a warm welcome! Ofrendas — beautifully decorated altars — are covered with marigolds, candles, sugar skulls, photographs, and the favorite foods and drinks of those who have died. Some elaborate public altars also pay tribute to famous artists, musicians, and writers. Of course, there is sadness in remembering those we have lost. But there is also music, laughter, and a wonderful sense of celebration. In some cities, parades fill the streets. Homes and public squares are decorated with flowers and skeletons, while shops display sugar skulls, colorful figures, and pan de muerto — the traditional sweet “bread of the dead,” which happens to be delicious. And then there is La Catrina. That elegant female skeleton in her extravagant hat began with José Guadalupe Posada’s satirical Calavera Garbancera in the early 20th century. Diego Rivera later gave her a full-length figure in his famous 1947 mural, helping turn her into one of the most recognizable symbols of Mexican art and Día de Muertos. Perhaps that is what makes this celebration so remarkable: death is present everywhere — and yet so are color, humor, music, flowers, food, memory, and life. 🌼💀🇲🇽 #DiaDeMuertos #DayOfTheDead #LaCatrina #MexicanTraditions #MexicanCulture by @nt.tales

🌚Halloween 🎃 Witches, trolls, and mermaids, gnomes and goblins, ghosts in sheets, Baba Yaga—Bony Legs— fortune-tellers with their cards. “Don’t be scared—we’re out tonight! All year long we’re patched and shabby. Crooked hats and ragged clothes— Halloween’s when we look right!” One night only—fly and dance, make some noise and stay up late. But without you, there’s no party. Bring your friends. We’ll save a place. #HalloweenPoem #KidsPoetry #PoetryForKids #ChildrensPoetry #HalloweenForKids by @nt.tales

🦋Liam: “Finn says flying is boring if you can dance your way across the meadow instead. More flowers, more friends!” 🐝Wally: “Fine by me. As long as one of those friends has honey and cake.” #BugRhymes #BugRhymesSeries #ChildrensBooks #KidsBooks #PictureBooks by @nt.tales
🐿️🌳 Squirrels are the best gardeners! They bury nuts for later, then forget where they hid some of them. Those forgotten nuts sprout and grow into trees, and over time, entire groves can appear! That’s how squirrels plant forests without even knowing it! 🌰🌱 #Squirrels #SquirrelLife #SquirrelLove #NatureLovers #WildlifeLovers by @nt.tales
🐭Pirate Mice 🏴‍☠️ We’re fearsome little pirates, and fearless little mice! We’re sailing to Cheese Island aboard our pirate ship. Careful now—we’re getting closer. A reef may hide below. The captain steers our pirate ship toward the cheesy shore. The captain charted out our course. He’s not afraid of risk. He wants to reach Cheese Island fast— and knows exactly how. There on our island made of cheese, we’ll build a little house. Cheese trees will grow around it… and there we’ll stay for good! Yo-ho-ho and a hunk of cheese! Now that is real treasure! Our wonderful Cheese Island welcomes every mouse. We’re merry little pirates and hungry little mice… Somehow our tasty island turned out a bit too small… #PirateMice #MouseStories #FunnyMice #KidsPoetry #PoetryForKids by @nt.tales
