New Tiny Sidecar slinging your way later today!! 🤠☕️

This week I’m hanging out with Anu Menon, co-founder of Driftaway Coffee!

We get into what it’s actually looked like to build Driftaway over the last decade, why Anu and her husband decided to grow the company without outside investment, transparency in coffee, and how the mission has changed and grown right alongside the business.

We also talk about curiosity, figuring things out as you go, and a whole bunch of things in between.

Anu has such a thoughtful way of looking at this industry and I really loved getting to pick her brain.

What began in our Brooklyn apartment with a small home roaster and a lot of hope has turned into something we could’ve only imagined. ☕✨

Driftaway Coffee has been named Roaster of the Year 2026 by Roast Magazine — the first New York City roaster to receive this honor in the award’s 22-year history. 💛

This recognition means so much — not just for us, but for everyone along the coffee chain who’s been part of this journey. From farmers and importers to our small team, every step has been about building something that’s fair, inclusive, and people-centered.

To our community: thank you for believing in what we do, for learning alongside us, and for being part of this story.

People first, coffee always.

In honor of going from not really knowing any Taylor Swift songs to landing in the top 3% of her listeners this year 😂 (thanks, Spotify Wrapped!), here’s a throwback to the Era’s Tour this summer 💖✨ My favorite Swifties, @ashmenon & @varsh92, snagged tickets, Paul Rudd convinced @suyogmody to join, and we “trained” by obsessively listening to a new song every day. What an amazing performance ✨💖 by @tinysidecar

Pt. 1 of the making of Driftaway Coffee! ☕

Celebrating 10 years since we first started roasting in our tiny Brooklyn apartment! It’s been the most unforgettable journey—from a tech influencer shoutout that grew us overnight, to nonstop roasting on home machines, co-roasting at @pulleycollective, and finally opening our own roastery in 2021…with our tasting room coming SOON! 😊
