Every nurse I ever talked to always said your first year as a nurse is the hardest and that it starts to get better once you hit your 6 months . I hit my 6 months in March and I can tell you there was such a positive shift in how comfortable I felt at work and just my overall mood. One day I just realized that I was getting out on time more often then when I started, I didn’t have so much anxiety going into work ,and I felt so much more confident in how to advocate for my patients and their care.

My family even told me how much happier I seemed. Those first 6 months were such a hard transition for me and I definitely didn’t feel like myself . It’s been the best feeling the past 2 months to feel like I’m getting my color back .
The shifts have not gotten easier by no means but I’ve gotten a lot better with coping with them.

For anyone about to start their first year of nursing or if you’re in it now it does get better . It may not feel like it but it will .Give yourself time and grace during this transition, you got this 💖

I accepted my first RN job on a Cardiac Progressive Care floor!!🫀👩‍⚕️
Learning about the heart was always one of the most interesting things for me in nursing school so I’m so grateful I got this position!
I got accepted through the hospital’s nurse residency program which has rolling start dates every 2 weeks which is so nice since I don’t have to start right away. I plan to start in early August! I’m so incredibly excited to start this journey and share it with you guys!🥳💛
My dog Happy seems to approve of my decision lol

When I start working I’ll no longer have that student nurse title which means people are gonna expect a lot of more of me. I am the nurse, but I know in nursing you are never truly on your own. You have a whole team of people there to support you . My preceptor always told me when in doubt there’s always a “nursier” nurse that can help.

This next week is super busy and exciting! We have our nursing bar crawl on Tuesday, banquet on Thursday, pinning on Friday, and graduation Saturday! I can’t wait to celebrate with all my friends and family💛🥳

I hope you guys have an amazing week!💛

HAPPY NURSES WEEK🩺💗✨
So far I’ve survived almost 3 years of bedside nursing 🥳 I’m so grateful for the incredible nurses who were so patient with me and taught me how to be a nurse 💛The nurses I have worked alongside have been the some kindest and most resilient people I’ve met💛Despite working in this broken healthcare system we show up and we give our all to provide the best care we can for these patients. I’m so proud to be in this profession and I’m so proud of my fellow nurses💗 by @nurseechristina
