A toast, to honor. 🍷

Fantastic gathering of gentlemen for our Iron & Ink Symposium, a dinner event centered on the writings and virtues of Benjamin Franklin.

Our next symposium is Tuesday, April 21st. We’ll discuss the life of Lysander, the Spartan general who defeated Athens, and examine what leadership looks like through the lens of antiquity.

A cultural and educational revival is underway. It is happening largely offline, outside of mainstream academic and political institutions, and far from New York, Washington D.C., and Silicon Valley.

Nashville, TN has positioned itself right at the center of this revival.

A great event is happening this upcoming Monday from 12-2 at @nashvilleglasshaus

@meriwetheracademy president @nwsteury , @dvshnt of the @realpamphleteer , @michael_millerman , @pbdmcniel of @thewagonbox , and other organizational founders will be participating in a panel at @nashvilleglasshaus on the nature of this revival movement and what it means for American culture.

Come hear about these projects from their founders and enjoy lunch with great folks!

On this date 217 years ago in 1809, at this site on the Natchez Trace, Capt. Meriwether Lewis met his untimely death by 2 gunshot wounds in the middle of the night.

His mortal remains lie underneath this monument.

His final words?

“I am no coward, but I am so strong, so hard to die.”

May his patriotic soul rest in peace.

It was wonderful to see so many gentlemen come together for our Nashville event on classical architecture with @jshubow .

Justin Shubow, former Chairman of the U.S. Fine Arts Commission, is currently the president of the National Civic Art Society, a D.C. non-profit dedicated to promoting beautiful civic architecture in America.

Sir Winston Churchill said, “We shape our buildings; thereafter they shape us”. Far from being merely symbolic, architecture continues to influence our everyday lives through its constant impression on our senses.

Shubow visited Meriwether Academy in Nashville to speak at our latest special event, The Architecture of Our Glory, where he made the case for classicism over modernity in civic design. The event was hosted at the Historic Belmont Mansion with 85 gentlemen gathering from all over the Southeast to hear Shubow speak.

The recording of Shubow’s talk is now available on our YouTube!

This book was the 2nd most popular book in the English language, second only to the Bible itself.

Now it’s been largely forgotten…

Have you read it?

The wildest news of the past 2 weeks is that Peter Thiel is coming to Nashville to give his 4-part Antichrist Lectures Sept 28 - Oct 19th.

Drawing from history, literature, art, theology, politics, science, and technology, the lectures will explore what the rise of artificial intelligence means for the future—and how it fits within Thiel’s broader thinking about technological progress, political power, apocalypse, and the Antichrist.

This event is hosted by @realpamphleteer in collaboration with @meriwetheracademy

Each evening will feature an hour-long lecture followed by an hour of discussion and audience Q&A moderated by Peter Robinson, Hoover Institution fellow and former speechwriter for President Ronald Reagan.

The lectures will take place in Downtown Nashville (location to be revealed the morning before each lecture.)

Visit the link in my bio for tickets.

It’s a talk on religion, AI, and what silicon valley might actually be summoning.

Gentlemen only.
