2 of 2, now twenty-two 🖤 by @nyathiel

Still reminiscing on the surreal moment last week on February 4th, 2026. I participated in my first pageant, which was the Miss Old Gold and Black Scholarship pageant hosted by the Alpha Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. Thank you to the Alpha Sigma Chapter for all the hard work and dedication you put in for such a magical night 💛🖤

I placed third and was crowned Miss Black 🖤✨
This experience has been such a good journey for me. Throughout all the new things I learned, pageant practices, and dress rehearsals I enjoyed every second of it. To my pageant moms, you made this experience worth it all. I’ve learned so much from you all and I will never forget what was taught to us. To my pageant pops you did your thing. Everything was just how I imagined it to be. Thank you for all the effort you put in to make sure that day was nothing short of unforgettable. To the previous Miss Black and Old Gold, her court, and those before her, thank you for helping in any and every way possible. It meant so much to have your support. To my pageant sisters, you all made this experience so much fun. I am so glad to have done this with you all. I wouldn’t trade yall for the world.

To my friends, family, and those who have supported me throughout this. I am beyond grateful for everything. If it wasn’t for you all, I probably wouldn’t have made it this far in this journey. Your support led me to where I am today and I am more than thankful 💛

To my younger self who would’ve never even dreamed of doing a pageant. You did it. You are the confident, intelligent, beautiful young woman that you aspired to be. You are learning and growing everyday and this experience has allowed you to grow even further. You’ve always been capable of anything!

I say all that to say I am honored to be crowned as

This past Saturday I had the honor of being revealed as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated 🔺This moment means so much to me especially because of the many Delta women I’ve encountered in my life. Especially my Pastor Patricia who is a wonderful woman of God and has taught me so much in life. She inspired me to become part of this Illustrious Sorority.

November 24th marks 95 years since the Almighty Alpha Iota Chapter was chartered and it is an honor that I am part of it.

To my madam president, LMC, and advisors you all showed us exactly what needed to be done. All the hard work and effort you all put in did not go unnoticed. I’m grateful for all that you’ve done. I learned so much from all of you! ❤️

To my new 26 sisters, I am grateful for the bonds I’ve made with each of you. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Throughout this whole process we’ve been able to uplift, encourage, and be there with each other through it all. I love you all dearly! ❤️‍🔥

To my family and friends who showed out! I love that you were all able to support me in one the best moments of my life. It means everything to have such an amazing support system. I love yall so much!!

You may know me as Nyathiel but in Delta Land, I am known as BlAzIng Ember. 🔺🐘
