Hey y’all! We have some super exciting and highly anticipated news. We finally have PERMANENT drop box locations to donate your old climbing shoes!

If you have a pair of shoes that you don’t wear anymore, we’ll take them off your hands. Just look for the teal covered bins at two Cliffs locations and Metrorock and be sure tag us in a story while donating your climbing shoes!

Thank you to our new hosts for making space for our bins. by @nycclimbingcollective

Beyond the Figure 8, there's a whole world of knots that can help you on your next climbing trip or in everyday life! Join us next week at Movement LIC to learn some useful knot-tying techniques. We’ll start off with a lively discussion and demonstration, then finish the event with a community climb. Volunteers from NY3C will happily help out new climbers at the event.

This mini-clinic is free to attend. However, if you’re not a Movement member and intend on climbing, a $15 day pass is available! Shoes and harness included.

🧗‍♀️ The outdoors should be for everyone, but not everyone has the access to the knowledge and education around it. We are hosting these mini-clinics to help bridge the gap to make the outdoors more accessible.

Wondering where to start when you go climbing outdoors? Guidebooks can help!

At our latest mini-clinic, climbers learned how to choose guidebooks for their next excursion and find the routes and boulder problems that best fit their goals. We practiced our new skills with some fun bouldering on Rat Rock in New York City's Central Park! The group supported each other through some of our first-ever outdoor climbs.

Who knew playing hacky sack could be a great warm-up for climbing?

Yesterday's mini-clinic at Central Park was a blast! We shared tips for warming up before indoor and outdoor climbs — from hikes to stretches, portable equipment, and even hacky sacks. Then we did a warm-up together and cheered each other on as we climbed a classic New York City boulder, Rat Rock.

Thanks to everyone who came out!

Keep an eye out for our next clinic on August 25th, which will help you master the use of guidebooks to explore new areas and find your next project. by @nycclimbingcollective
