Wow! I am absolutely thrilled and grateful to kick off the new year on such a high note. Last March, I decided to take a leap of faith and open my home studio. Little did I know that in just nine months, this would be the incredible outcome.

I am deeply thankful and appreciative for all my patients. Your unwavering support and encouragement over the past few months have meant the world to me. I wouldn’t be where I am today without each and every one of you.

I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store! Thank you for being part of my journey🙏🏽 #BETONYOURSELF by @nyssentials

Things I don’t mind as an RMT🤫👇🏽
* You seeing other practitioners: I do NOT take it personally if you go to someone else for treatment—including other RMTs! If their style works better for your body, I will literally be the first person to encourage it. At the end of the day, your health is the priority.
* Referring you out: There is zero shame in hitting a wall. I am more than happy to refer you to another practitioner who is a perfect fit for your specific needs.
* Exchanging services: As long as it’s a fair trade-off, I am 100% down for an industry swap! (Otherwise... I’m not giving out free treatments just for funsies🙃)
* Body hair: Respectfully, I do not care if you shaved or not. It changes absolutely nothing about my treatment plan or how I work on your muscles. Come as you are!
* Taking you in early: If the time permits, my table is ready, and it doesn’t cut into my scheduled break or another patient’s slot, I’m happy to get started early.
* Dry / No-lubricant treatments: I personally love a good fascial treatment done on me, so I never mind skipping the lotion if myofascial release is what your body needs.
* Your music choices: Want to request a specific playlist? Want total silence? I’m open to whatever makes you comfortable. by @nyssentials

It feels incredibly fitting that today is Thanksgiving, as it also marks my 4-year anniversary as an RMT! I am deeply thankful for each and every one of you who has stepped into my treatment room. Whether you’ve visited me once or you are a regular on my schedule, thank you for trusting me with your care. I am so appreciative of your support and for keeping me booked and busy and all year round🙏🏽 by @nyssentials

As busy season approaches, we’re also seeing a rise in flu and other respiratory illnesses. To keep everyone safe, please do not attend your appointment if you’re experiencing any symptoms ( mild or lingering ones)

When I become sick, I’m unable to work, which means multiple appointments may need to be cancelled and I’m unable to make up that lost time. As an independent practitioner, I only earn income when I’m in clinic, so illness has a significant impact on both my schedule and my livelihood.

I also care for and live with my 82 y/o grandmother, who is easily compromised. Protecting her health and yours is extremely important to me as I work from my home studio most days.

Please be considerate during this season and cancel your appointment if you’re feeling unwell in any way. Wearing a mask can help reduce exposure, but in a small treatment room it is not fully protective.

Thank you for helping keep my space safe, healthy, and accessible for everyone. by @nyssentials

Four years as an RMT is just around the corner, and my heart feels so full thinking about everything this path has brought into my life. The people I’ve met, the quiet moments of care, the growth — each piece has shaped who I am today. I’ve always said I didn’t choose this profession; it chose me! Every single day, I’m grateful it did. Supporting people through pain, bringing a bit of ease to someone’s day, and being part of their healing journey is a privilege I hold close. I wouldn’t trade this work for anything🙏🏽 by @nyssentials

I’d like to kindly remind everyone that although I work from home, I’m not available at all times. I truly appreciate when clients arrive early, but please remain in your vehicle and send me a quick message once you are here. I do not have a waiting area like a clinic or spa (also why I try to prohibit guests) and depending on my schedule, I may or may not be able to take you in before your appointment time.

If you see someone leaving, that doesn’t mean I’m ready for you just yet. I still need a moment to reset, wash my hands, use the restroom, prepare my space, and take a breather. I promise I’ll let you know as soon as I’m ready🙏🏽

In your initial email, it mentions arriving about 15 minutes early to account for any delays on your way here. That guideline is simply to help ensure you’re on time…not to come inside early. Please wait in your car or outside until I message you to come in.

If you’re running late, just send me a quick heads up. When you arrive, the door will be open for you to walk right in.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping me keep everything running smoothly! by @nyssentials

What were things you quickly learned as a practitioner?

Based on true events😅

(minus the standing one lol, that would be diabolical🤣)

But all jokes aside- Treatment can be provided fully clothed or in whatever attire supports your comfort and therapeutic goals. If you remain clothed, you may stay on top of the sheets. If you choose to undress, please ensure you are positioned beneath the sheets. This supports your privacy, comfort, and safety, as well as mine as a registered massage therapist!

Being an independent contractor isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Some days are full, some shift unexpectedly, and every week requires thoughtful planning around patient needs, treatment times, and the realities of sustaining both a business and a life😅

Our income isn’t salary or hourly — it changes with cancellations, no‑shows, schedule adjustments, emergencies, and even the days we aren’t feeling our best. Every week looks different, and every day demands intention and flexibility.

Even with the unpredictability, showing up for my patients and helping them feel better, move better and return to what they love is the part that makes all the behind the scene work worth it🙏🏽
