My friend Kristen @_commander_and_chic wanted a look inspired by Serena Williams meets country club chic—but elevated, sexy, and sophisticated.

Somewhere along the design process, the vision started getting a little lost in translation, so Odera Styles was pulled in to help refine the details, translate the concept, and get everyone aligned.

The final look? Exactly what it was supposed to give! Did we make Serena proud? 👀🎾

Some styling moments are more than just fashion—they’re legacy.

For my very first behind-the-scenes styling story, I had the honor of styling someone incredibly special: my little brother @m3ky.u for his graduation photoshoot 🤍🎓

This wasn’t just about creating a beautiful look. It was about telling the story of who he is, where he comes from, and everything he has accomplished.

For this shoot, I wanted to merge heritage, excellence, and identity—honoring our culture through native attire while celebrating his academic journey in a way that felt elevated, intentional, and deeply personal.

From selecting the Howard University Bison detailing to choosing the @smithsonian_africanart museum as our backdrop, every detail was purposeful.

Styling, to me, is never just about clothing. It’s creative direction. Storytelling. Advocacy. Emotion. Presence.
And this is only the beginning.

“Chukwuemeka”

The name given to me in honor of my late grandfather, meaning “God has done well”, and a constant reminder of the legacy to uphold.

My Igbo heritage is one I cherish dearly. As I graduate from Howard University, I’m reminded of those who’ve came before me, every sacrifice, and every prayer made to get me to where I stand today.
