Before you dream of that Stage, learn to 𝐄𝐗𝐄𝐂𝐔𝐓𝐄. ⁣
⁣
For me, one of my reasons for joining JCI was to find a sandbox that would push me to show up and execute, even when every vein in my body wants to hide at home or focus on only the jobs that pay my bills. ⁣
⁣
Trust me when I say I am still learning 🫣. ⁣
I am still learning to show up when I don’t feel ready. ⁣
I am still learning to stretch myself, within and beyond JCI.⁣
I am still learning to embrace responsibility even before the recognition and rewards come.⁣
⁣
Some days, the results are amazing.⁣
Other days, I get to learn to try again.⁣
And on some days, I am simply comforted knowing that the Universe has a way of rewarding effort.⁣
⁣
This video captures one of the moments I get to take the Stage. ⁣
This is the moment everyone sees. Only a few get to see all my BTS drama 😎.⁣

I almost convinced myself to retake this video. Then I came across @askvinh ‘s post about looking into your communication mirror. ⁣
⁣
Filler words are one of those unwanted tag-alongs you may have to deal with as you work on your communication skills. The best tip I am using for this is taking a deliberate 1 to 2-second pause when speaking - which I forget to do on some days 😎. ⁣
⁣
Both scripted and unscripted conversations happen on stage. You can take your collection of filler words with you or practice habits to fix that. ⁣
The same goes for your gestures. Gesticulation can become a strength when you learn to use it deliberately, rather than allowing it to become a distraction. ⁣
⁣
Whatever it is, you cannot improve what you have not noticed. That’s the thing about growth.⁣
Look into your communication mirror. Watch yourself, listen to yourself and notice those little things you need to fix. ⁣

Whether you think you can or you think you cannot, you are right. But sometimes, that reason only exists in your head. ⁣⁣

Before you dream of that stage, you need to enjoy communicating with yourself. ⁣⁣

We are ready 🎯.

Today, we are exploring what it takes to stand out in the global economy. In a rapidly evolving world like ours, opportunities are available to those who are adaptable, skilled, and innovative.

I am excited to lead this conversation on building valuable skills and leveraging competitive opportunities beyond the classroom. It is really a great opportunity to be a part of this program, as I remain committed to amplifying @jci_nigeria 🌟.

@jcinuniabuja , @jcin__udus , and @jcin_paau , thanks for the opportunity to serve and #AmplifyImpact 💙💙.

I was audacious to get through the nomination, training, and interview phases. ⁣
But I still did not feel ready to go into elections. I even convinced myself that I did not ace the interview - 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯 𝘈 🥹. ⁣

I am grateful to everyone that inspired me in that final phase. ⁣
To my friends within and outside of JCI Nigeria, thanks for believing in me so much that you were confident I was qualified for the role. Thanks for teaching me that leadership does not demand perfection, but the courage to learn and evolve. ⁣
⁣
This moment represents more than a personal milestone. It is a shared victory for every young person who believes in the power of 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. ⁣
May this moment always remind us that we can lead from wherever we are ✨✨✨. ⁣

In 30 months of joining JCI Nigeria, I have permission to share this flyer. ⁣
This means I have been nominated, assessed, and declared fit to campaign. ⁣
For me, that alone is a big win. ⁣
⁣
From filling the form to taking the assessment and sharing this post, everything in me screams - “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺.”⁣
But the truth is I don’t really feel 100% ready for anything. I’ve just learnt to prepare, show up, and create impact. ⁣
⁣
This is not a campaign call from me to you, as only Local Organizations in JCI Nigeria can vote. ⁣
Also, I may or may not eventually go through with the election phase 😎. But the goal is 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 - the journey I took to get to this stage ✨👍. ⁣
⁣
This post to inspire you. It is to remind you that Audacity is showing up even when you don’t feel ready. It is to remind you that audacity is enjoying the process, even when the outcome is not certain. ⁣

A voice of vision. A call to action. 🌟

In her inspiring address, Yetunde Oyeyipo, TOYP Chairperson, set the tone for a transformative celebration; reminding us that youth excellence is not just to be admired, but to be nurtured, #ELV8d, and multiplied.

Every word carried the spirit of possibility, driving home the message that the future is already here, and it begins with us.
