For Your Grammy Consideration - “Marvel’s Deadpool VR” for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media. Score by Composer Christopher Young and Co-Composer Gil Young.

Best known for scoring many of Hollywood’s iconic horror and superhero films, including ‘Hellraiser,’ ‘Sinister,’ ‘Drag Me to Hell,’ ‘Ghost Rider,’ and ‘Spider-Man 3,’ Christopher took a bold new turn with ‘Deadpool VR’ – fusing cinematic orchestration with frenetic, immersive game music. Across nearly four hours of music, the soundtrack explodes with progressive-rock energy, warped electronics, and a powerhouse orchestra, delivering a score that’s as chaotic and unpredictable as the game itself.

Christopher co-wrote the score with his son, Gil, who also performed all of the drums, guitar, and bass featured on the soundtrack.

Voting for the 2027 Grammys is open now through October 22.

What’s the difference between scoring for film versus VR?

6x BMI Award winner, Golden Globe nominee, and 2x Emmy-nominated Composer Christopher Young explains how VR lets him move the orchestra through space.

In film, the music supports the screen. In VR, it can move all around you. Inspired by a Pink Floyd concert where sound was panned around the hall, Chris sends his score ping-ponging from one side of the room to the other in ‘Marvel’s Deadpool VR.’
