What happens after a convict enters the prison? At the NavaDisha International Dialogue at the EIMR Business School, Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, Director General of Police, Prisons and Correctional Services, Karnataka, offered valuable insights into the realities of India’s prisons and the urgent need for reform. Drawing on his extensive experience across policing and administration, he spoke about the challenges facing correctional facilities and the importance of strengthening rehabilitation, reformation and reintegration. His address left participants with much to reflect on about building a criminal justice system that goes beyond punishment to give people a genuine opportunity to change. The session was moderated by @soniya_deshmukh_, Founder of @revyug_, and attended by representatives of Tatvam Institute of Leadership, @projectshringara, the Commonwealth Youth Council and the International Organization for Crime Prevention and Rehabilitation (IOCPR), Sri Lanka. Grateful to Shri Alok Kumar for sharing his insights and contributing to this important dialogue. #NavaDisha #TatvamInstitute #PrisonReforms #CriminalJustice #Rehabilitation by @officialcyc

A meaningful and engaging session on Mental Health Conversations with adolescents as part of the Are You Okay? Campaign, in collaboration with the Commonwealth Youth Council. It was amazing to work as Wellbeing Champion πŸ’™πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° Through interactive discussions, paired activities, and shared reflections, we explored the importance of ASK, LISTEN, CONNECT, and ACT. From understanding mental health and challenging stigma to practising active listening and creating safe spaces, the session highlighted how small, intentional actions can make a meaningful difference. 🌈 One of the most beautiful takeaways was recognising that sometimes, simply listening and validating someone's emotions can make them feel heard, valued, and supported. ✨ Here's to nurturing empathy, breaking stigma, and building communities where every young person feels safe to speak and comfortable asking for support. πŸ’š #wellbeingchampion #areyouokaycampaign #commonwealthyouthcouncil #α΄α΄‡Ι΄α΄›α΄€ΚŸΚœα΄‡α΄€ΚŸα΄›Κœα΄€α΄‘α΄€Κ€α΄‡Ι΄α΄‡ss #youthwellbeing by @officialcyc
THE WELLBEING CIRCLE PICNIC We took the conversation beyond the screens and created space for young people to connect, have honest conversations about mental health, play games, and slow down through a guided meditation and breathing session. It was beautiful seeing people come together, relax, share, and simply be present. Sometimes, we need spaces where we can take a break from everything, check in with ourselves, and connect with others beyond the usual β€œI’m fine.” For me, this was more than hosting a picnic. It was about turning advocacy into action and creating an experience that brought the Are You Okay? Beyond β€œI’m Fine” campaign to life. A big thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and support to make this possible. πŸ’› As a Wellbeing Champion of the Commonwealth Youth Council, I’m reminded that the work continues beyond a single event. ASK. LISTEN. CONNECT. ACT. #areyouokay #youthgetinvolved #youthwellbeing #commonwealthyouthcouncil #drugfreeproject by @officialcyc

Through the #AreYouOkay Campaign, we are mobilising young people across the Commonwealth to break the stigma, create safe spaces for honest conversations and build communities where everyone feels heard and supported. πŸ“… 21 October 2026 ⏰ 15:00 - 17:00 BST πŸ“ Teesside University London Campus, London, UK 🎟️ Attendance is FREE, but registration is required! πŸ”— Register now: cycofficial.org/are-you-okay/#reg Because mental health matters, and every young person deserves to be heard. πŸ’š Ask.
