My friend George Coburn recently passed away. He and his wife Doris have been loyal fans and friends of mine for 36 years! Rest easy buddy and thank you for your military service. -MC by @officialmarkchesnutt

I got to spend time with @johnanderson doing things that he and I both loved. Hunting, of course! I could hear him coming a mile away with his big burly voice. He was in a league of his own. Please keep his family in your prayers. I will miss you, big John! by @officialmarkchesnutt

Nothing like hearing a crowd like this one sing along. Appreciate y’all!

THIS DATE IN GEORGE JONES HISTORY — SEPTEMBER 10, 1992

On this day in 1992, George Jones released “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair” — a song that became a declaration that The Possum wasn’t going anywhere.

The recording featured an incredible group of country music friends, including Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Mark Chesnutt, T. Graham Brown, Pam Tillis, Patty Loveless and more.

The song went on to win the 1993 CMA Award for Vocal Event of the Year and remains one of George’s most memorable later-career anthems. by @officialmarkchesnutt
