26BFH PARK/PLATZ Autumn semester design studio at BFH “ParkPlatz”: Reclaiming village squares from parking lots in eight Swiss villages, 2026 Drawings from the first semester phase: Initiative. Once a marketplace, a meeting point, a stage for everyday village life, the central square has in many peripheral Swiss villages become little more than an asphalted surface for parked cars. The square remains, but its social meaning has faded. Together with our students, we are working on eight village squares across Switzerland, from Ins, Rüeggisberg, Hospental, Wassen, Quinto and Moghegno to Lignerolle and Rossinière, and ask how they can regain their social role without displacing cars entirely. Through careful observation of the existing, a clear stance towards the historic village fabric, and a contextually grounded choice of materials, the students design new layers that reconnect mobility and community and return the square to everyday village life. 23SH SCHAFFHAUSEN Project for the new pedestrian bridge crossing the deer moat to the Munot Fortress in Schaffhausen, 2023-2026 The new pedestrian bridge leading to the Munot Fortress in Schaffhausen is conceived as a lightweight and visually permeable structure that integrates carefully into its historic surroundings.
By remaining subtle and receding into the background, the bridge seeks to strengthen the identity and presence of the fortress itself. Its light construction contrasts the heaviness of the existing stone structure, while materials and colours echo the architectural language of the Munot, creating a sense of continuity and belonging. Open competition, 1st Prize In great collaboration with @co_struct and @lightsphere.lighting Project for the city of @stadt_schaffhausen Project conceived as StudioSer Architects (Rina Rolli, Tiziano Schürch) #munot #minimalintervention #handdrawing #architecture #ofreia by @ofreia_architecture
24MI MINUSIO Project for new bus stops conceived as urban carpets along the main street of Minusio in Ticino, 2024-2026 A bus stop is, first and foremost, a place of waiting—functional and practical. Yet it is also, and perhaps above all, a public space: a place bordering a sidewalk and accompanying a street. It offers much more than simply a spot to board or leave a bus. At a bus stop, you might rest briefly after shopping on a hot summer morning, meet friends from school and exchange a few words, or simply take a break in the shade—perhaps even nurse a baby. The design of new bus stops in Minusio (Ticino) is therefore seen as an opportunity to reimagine these stops not just as functional elements, but as new public spaces for the neighborhood. They are intended to be places for lingering and encounter, enriching community life beyond their practical purpose. 26BFH DORF IM HAUS Spring semester design studio at @bfh_architektur “Dorf im Haus”: Rethinking the vacant schoolhouse in Rüeggisberg, Bern, 2026 Built in 1849 and extended in 1920, the former schoolhouse in Rüeggisberg lost its educational function once the municipality’s hamlets were consolidated into a single school in the 1980s. Since then, it has remained in a provisional state — partly vacant, in need of renovation, and without a clear perspective for its future. Together with our students, we developed a resilient future for the building: a new layer that inserts itself respectfully into the fabric of the village while reinforcing its identity. Through careful engagement with the existing structure and a contextually grounded choice of intervention, the students designed lasting, identity-forming relationships between building and inhabitants, reactivating the schoolhouse as a spatial expression of community. 📍 Cancha del Cubo 📅 18–23 junio 2026 🫂 Con el apoyo de Pro Helvetia 📸 @saracuerdo #Concéntrico2026 — ENG 🌊 The intervention by @ofreia_architecture at Cancha del Cubo invites visitors to experience the Ebro from a different perspective. At a time when the heat is reshaping the way we inhabit the city, the proposal recalls historical bathing practices and reconnects water, landscape, and community. An installation that activates the river as a place of encounter and reminds us that shared memories can also inspire new forms of wellbeing and refuge in the city. 📍 Cancha del Cubo 📅 June 18–23, 2026 🫂 With the support of Pro Helvetia 📸 @saracuerdo #Concéntrico2026 by @ofreia_architecture
26LO LOGROÑO The truth. Or quite the truth. Memory often comes as a version of the truth. The truth we want. We want to remember, and remember what we want. A week in a summer memory. Summers, in most memories, have rhythms of weeks. They come with exotic places or homey feelings. Shaped in geometries of summer, with striped patterns. With noises of waters and smells of heat. Summers want to be remembered. SUMMER SHAPES MEMORIES draws from the collective memory of the Ebro riverbanks in Logroño — where clothes were washed, fish were caught, where boats were rented and La Playa del Ebro became a place of leisure, encounter, and local myths of summer. La Guillerma, Juanito el Manco, El Pasti — figures still alive in the city’s collective memory. A temporary installation on a concrete basketball court by the Ebro in Cancha del Cubo: a fog system turns hard ground into water, El Pasti’s small boats drift through the mist, and a central pavilion — inspired by Juanito el Manco’s bar — holds historical photographs of the memory of the Playa del Ebro as postcards. Visitors are invited to row towards the Embarcadero, write and send a summer memory, letting personal and collective recollections of the Ebro circulate through the city once more. 🌊 The river is also a space of collective memory.
