“NO MATTER WHAT WE ASK THE MUSCLE TO DO, IT’S GOING TO BE BETTER AT THAT”

Nick Goode, PhD, is back for Round 2 and this time we dive into the importance of Strength Training for Rowing Performance!

@ohrower_phd provides us with a deep dive into…

*Why rowers need to incorporate resistance training in order to apply more power to every stroke and cover the 2k distance faster.

*Improving “Rowing Economy”, and how even a small change in absolute strength positively impacts a rowers ability to row faster.

*The basic principles of resistance training and how coaches can program it into their team’s training.

Nick’s first episode back in 2024 about endurance training was one of the most talked about conversations of last year, and I think we one up it on this one!

Take notes, begin incorporating the principles into your off-season training, and become a stronger and faster rower!

Thanks to my co-researchers @coachkurticus, Ryan Lis, Andrew Nelson, and Alex Long. Moral of story is no matter your sport there is performance gains to be had in the weight room.
