Black History Month — Part I

This post is part of a recap featuring so many beautiful Black people from all over that I captured throughout my work.

To me, photography is not neutral.

Everything is a choice. The people I portray, the angle, the light, even the idea I hold in my head shapes the direction.
But it’s more than just looks.
When I take photos, I don’t want it to just look ‘aesthetic’,
it’s about carrying a story, a feeling or a meaning.

Photography is my (visual) voice.
And I thank God for blessing me with it.

𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙, 𝙬𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚
speaks to grounding and belonging.
An editorial study on Originals: identity without compromise, roots carried anywhere.
This photo series is about presence and belonging.
Set in the Alps, it centers Black culture and Black hair.
Hair becomes art and archive — carrying culture into new landscapes.

‚Home Away From Home‘ (2026)
I wanted to share this project, my first editorial magazine, with you.

It explores how culture lives on beyond the place of origin. Centered around West African barbershop culture in the diaspora, the project consists of documentary and studio photographs I took in Switzerland and Germany.

The magazine shows how identity, community, and belonging are carried through everyday tasks, shared spaces, and collective presence.
