No doubt about it, times are tough for artists and musicians. Even tourists and travelers will tell you- things just ain’t priced what they used to be out there on the road. But fret not wearied voyager, billionaires are in charge now and they are going to fix everything for us, so do not worry, prices will probably soon begin to fall.

Until then, if you are looking to book a Friday night at a motel in Laradise these days , you’ve got options. For example a weekend room at Motel 6 at will at least run you $143 total including taxes and fees. The legendarily loathsome Budget Inn by I80 will ring up at around $137 per evening, and if you are really looking to splurge, the hideously horrific Holliday inn will set you back around $275.96.

Hear ye tho all is not doom & gloom- I have encouraging news for all you wondering wayfarers looking for a space with natural dry heat, there is hope out there for a cheap nights rest in the form of a shed that your whole band (of up to 4 ) can fit in. Word on the street is a network of flop houses are popping up around the country with spaces out there that are so affordable, your wallet won’t hurt as bad as your krinked neck might after a one night’s stay at the America’s Worst Value Inn , the one with 1.5 stars/ of 10 out there east of town on grand ave that averages $120/nt. that place that was recently shut down for bath tub meth & a bed bug infestation. Well do not be worried fellow rambler, there are safer place than that at the flop house. I have good news for you & all your sojourning music friends and fam- there is hope in this world for a band on a busted budget- I introduce to you , The Hope Shed. This space is way better and safer than sleeping in a box truck parked overnight in an Arizona Filiberto’s parking lot. Make your reservation today, before it burns to the ground 🔥. by @oldgemcityflophouse

Have you ever driven a van packed full of sleeping musicians so far & needed to crash so bad that at 3:30 in the morning you would consider pulling over in some god forsaken rest stop outside of Rockford, Illinois to park under a sign informing you of having entered a high crime area & to beware of prowlers while 10,ooo,ooo watts of high pressure sodium & metal halide lumens beam light from the parking lot lamps above &flood through your windows in all angles during the dog days of summer with 85 degree sweltering heat outside & 98% humidity just so you could take a 45 min power nap ? If you answered yes to that question the Road Dawgz Crashpad might be an accommodation you would be grateful for & never ever complain about. Imagine sleeping 4 sardine style and one on the floor in a fairly comfortable queen sized bed after a late night show across the street , waking up & taking turns to use a shared bathroom while sipping expired kurig coffee that tastes like plastic before high tailing it out of town to your next show 8 hours away in Lincoln , NE. If this sounds like something familiar that you’d be open to experiencing again, then make a reservation today and we’ll make that a reality. No frills, & equipt with an unplugged mini fridge, , stained carpet, &a window that not only opens &closes but also is big enough to climb out of in case of a fire. by @oldgemcityflophouse

The Road Warrior Cave Bedroom #5 is a rare rental that brings back the nightly rate to middle earth times. It’s a pitch black room with the light off equipt with geothermal cooling from being 7 ft underground. This affordable room is not for the weak of heart- it’s for the road warrior weary & heartened traveler that would never ever complain about minimalist, cheap & simple accommodations. This is a listing for a twin bed in a bsmt bedroom w/ a shared basement bathroom within a 125 year old boarding house in downtown Laramie, Wyoming. 🍻 by @oldgemcityflophouse
