I had a lot of goals in 2025

This one, in particular, closed out the year in a way that feels deeply fulfilling—because I did what I said I was going to do.

We’re incredibly honored to share that Old Soul Design Studio has been selected for the 2026 AD PRO Directory. To be included alongside so many talented designers, architects, and builders is truly surreal.

Thank you to the Architectural Digest team and editors who thoughtfully curate and uphold this design community. This is a huge career milestone for me, and I’m beyond proud of our team—of the work we do, the care we bring to it, and the path we’re continuing to build together.

Grateful. Grounded. And very excited for what’s ahead. 🤍 #ADPRODirectory @archdigestpro @archdigest @downtownwestchester

A letter to 2025

While many are saying, “I’ve noticed a lot of new faces around here,” we may actually be the opposite.

If you’ve been a longtime follower—or someone new—you may have noticed we were largely absent on Instagram, aside from the occasional Story. At the beginning of 2025, the world felt heavy. The devastating floods in North Carolina happened just before the holidays, and this month marks the one-year anniversary of the California fires. While I love Instagram as a source of inspiration, it felt shallow to post during a time when so many people were facing loss and uncertainty.

It’s striking how quickly things cycle through the media—how fast tragedy becomes yesterday’s news. And yet, residents in those areas are still very much at a loss. Add in the broader political climate (which I won’t get into), stepping back felt necessary.

I told myself I’d take a short break and return to social media—but it simply wasn’t important to me or aligned with our company goals for 2025. Instead, I chose to put my head down and focus on the core of Old Soul: our clients, the client experience, continued education and mentorship.

Six months turned into more than a year—and that’s okay. I learned to give myself grace for not showing up daily, weekly, or even monthly. What matters to me, and to this company, runs deeper.

During a call with a mentor before the holidays, I was reminded that we did have a successful year—and that the heaviness I was feeling came from being tired and needing a pause. As a driven entrepreneur, it’s incredibly hard to step back and view things from the outside. Each time we hit a goal, won an award, or had work published, I’d take a quick breath—and move right on to the next intention.

All that said, we have so many incredible things to share from last year, and exciting news as we step into 2026. This year hasn’t started out any lighter—but I’m ready to try again.

If any of this resonates, thank you. And if you’re still here with us—reading til the end
I’m deeply grateful 🤍

Krystal! If I could do an actual backflip, I’d be up in the air right now. But in the meantime, I am jumping up and down for JOY and happiness for you. Your work is so stunning and your clients are clearly such huge fans of your work. I love what they say about you!

@kmulvs, I just cannot thank you enough. This article weaves in so much, so beautifully. Wow! I really don’t have words for my gratitude.

To the editorial team at Hearst, thank you for supporting ALL forms of love & home making. Thank you for dedicating this editorial feature and incredible home to International Pride Day. More love. More humanity. Now and forever. ❤️

Step into your power. C.Next Designers Edition

As first-timers, we truly didn’t know what to expect—but it ended up being so much more than we imagined.

Yes, the setting at @nizucresort was breathtaking, but it was the people, the conversations, the events, and the deeply sensory experiences that made this trip the reset I didn’t even realize I needed. I’ve never felt more inspired—or more excited—to return to the work I love and raise the bar even higher for myself and for our company.

Full transparency: we haven’t used @cosentinousa on a project yet. But after hearing the family story from @pilar_cosentino and @eduardocosentino, learning about their mission, core values, and genuine care for their team, I was completely blown away. I choose to work with companies that align with my values and who truly care about the bigger picture—and this was exactly that.

Thank you to Nizuc for the incredible hospitality. Thank you, @pattyhdom, for your vision and drive—it was infectious. The theme “I’m Alive” carried us through late nights, laughter, meaningful connections, and moments I’ll never forget. I left with a full heart, closing out the week with a spiritual ceremony that felt like the perfect bookend to an unforgettable experience.

Patti, Cosentino, Nizuc, old friends and new —thank you for something truly special 🤍 by @oldsoul_designstudio

In Loving Memory

While last week was one of celebration, it was also a time of deep reflection and grief. Anyone who works in this industry knows that we are only as strong as the people behind us—and that our most meaningful projects are the result of true collaboration. Clients, team members, trade partners, vendors, and so many others all play a role in bringing these spaces to life.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a former team member, Rebecca Gadsby Lukens, who we said goodbye to last Tuesday. This was the final project Rebecca worked on with Old Soul Design Studio, and we dedicate this achievement to her.

Rebecca was a gifted artist and interior designer, a devoted wife, loving mother and friend. She passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. She was 54.

Her talent, creativity, and presence will always be part of the work we do, and she will be deeply missed.

A link to Rebecca’s obituary can be found in our bio.

Words can’t quite describe the feeling—the moment you walk into a national bookstore and see your work on the stands.

We knew we were one of only two home tours selected for this year’s Philadelphia Home + Design… but we had no idea it would be THE COVER!!

This is our studio’s first print home tour, and we couldn’t be more honored that it’s being showcased in our local publication. A heartfelt thank you to editor Anne Taulane and the entire Philly Home + Design and Philadelphia Magazine teams for selecting our Queen Anne Revival project.

And most of all, thank you to our incredible clients for trusting us with your home and its story.

This is just a sneak peek—stay tuned for a deeper dive into West Chester Proper next week.

Closing out the week on an incredible high 🤍

What could life at home feel like in 2026?

Not just a beautiful after photo.
But a home that truly supports how you live.

Spaces that function better.
Flow that makes daily life feel easier.
Rooms that feel calmer, healthier, and less stressful.
A place for everything—and everyone.
A home where you feel safe.

Homes designed with real life in mind:
kids and pets, work and rest, quiet mornings and full evenings. Thoughtful materials that are safe, sustainable, and made to last.

We spend nearly 90% of our lives inside our homes.
When design is done well—and done thoughtfully—it gives something back.

Time.
Time not spent managing decisions, juggling trades, or living in limbo. Time to be present with your family, or focused on what matters most to you.

Good design takes time.
Choosing the right team is a meaningful investment.
But when it’s done right, the result is a home that works quietly in the background— supporting your life while we handle the rest.

If this is the year you’re ready,
we’re here, inquiry in bio 🤍

We hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful holiday—candles lit, laughter in the air, delicious food on the table—and most of all, creating memories with the people you love. ✨

This formal dining room is proof that great design can be both functional and sustainable. Would you believe their daughter was only 18 months old when we designed this space—and that they use this room every single day? That this once-dated pantry was transformed into a chic wet bar just for mom and dad?

Swipe for an incredible before and after. This is just a small glimpse into what we’ve been up to behind the scenes.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas🎄❤️
With gratitude,
Krystal + Tristram

✨What. A. Whirlwind.✨ We’ve just returned from our IDS National Conference at the @ritzcarltonneworleans, and it was nothing short of inspiring. Leadership sessions, thoughtful educational programming, meaningful national connections, and a taste of NOLA’s rich culture made this gathering one to remember.

The highlight of the week was celebrating our peers at the Designer of the Year Awards. We’re especially proud of our own Philadelphia chapter President and designer, Krystal Reinhard @oldsoul_designstudio, and designer member Hilary Unger @perianthinteriordesign, who were recognized for their work and contributions to the field. Even more exciting– @idsphiladelphia was honored with the Spirit Award, a testament to the energy, collaboration, and commitment of our local chapter.

As always, we’re grateful to @idsnational for curating such a purposeful and energizing experience. These conferences remind us why community matters—because design is stronger when shared. ❤️

If you’ve ever considered joining IDS, now is the time. Mark your calendars for next year’s conference in Las Vegas—we’d love to see you there.
