Mount Carmel Rallies Late to Edge Pallotti, 4–3 Mount Carmel showed poise and resilience when it mattered most Thursday, rallying late to secure a 4–3 victory over Pallotti in a tightly contested matchup. Trailing 3–2 entering the bottom of the fifth, Mount Carmel delivered the decisive blow. With runners on, Caitlyn Nelson came through in the clutch, ripping a single that brought home two runs and flipped the game in Mount Carmel’s favor for good. The tone was set early by Erin Martin, who turned in a standout all-around performance. Martin opened Mount Carmel’s scoring with a solo home run to center field in the first inning, battling through a six-pitch at-bat before sending the ball out. She remained a constant presence at the plate, finishing a perfect 3-for-3 with additional singles in the third and fifth innings. Pallotti struck first with a bases-loaded walk in the opening frame, but Mount Carmel answered immediately behind Martin’s power. The visitors regained the lead in the third inning on a sacrifice play followed by a solo home run, putting Mount Carmel in a 3–1 hole. From there, the game belonged to Martin in the circle. The Mount Carmel ace was dominant, going the distance while allowing just three runs on five hits over six innings. She racked up an impressive 13 strikeouts, repeatedly shutting down Pallotti’s momentum and keeping her team within striking distance. Offensively, Mount Carmel continued to apply pressure. Nelson led the team with two RBIs, delivering the game-changing hit, while Sydney Badders added a strong performance at the plate with two hits and a sac bunt in three plate appearances. With timely hitting, dominant pitching, and composure under pressure, Mount Carmel earned a hard-fought win and carried that momentum forward as they prepare for their next road game at AACS on Thursday. by @olmc_athletics

Ava is batting .667 this season with four homers and 14 RBIs in just three games. “When the game is on the line, Ava is the player you want at the plate,” OLMC coach Leon Badders said. “She thrives under pressure and has a remarkable ability to deliver in big moments.
