My day started at 4am so I did have 2 protein coffees before 10am. When mama isn't feeling well, she likes to have #pozole or #pho so I went to our local Mexican store and they didn't have pozole but I got her #caldodepollo instead. It was so good. Nothing beats seeing older folks cooking in a kitchen--that's real authentic food made with love. It's the best.

No sugar! No otai and no cakes today-I almost gave in but I didn't. Another struggle is to not eat late at night. I was tempted to get out of bed to make me a bowl of saimini. But I forced myself to sleep and woke up at 3:45am feeling light and rested. The more I do this, the better I feel and the more my resilience strengthens. Let's go!

I overdid it on carbs. I ate 3 Panipopo rolls today...but it was so good. At least I didn't drink otai or eat any cake. Oh and at the end of the night I did have a handful of chocolate candies 😭 I haven't had a butterfinger in years. It was yum and reminded me of my dad. It was his favorite candy bar.

Grateful for the food I have to eat for myself and my dogs. I'm surrounded by sugar but I'm trying to not eat the cakes and drink the otais. So far I'm good.

I'm excited to see y'all tomorrow (Friday, 10/30) for my October Lei Po'o Workshop.
.
I'm teaching the traditional Hawaiian method of "wili lei po'o" featuring the main Mexican flower "Cempasúchil".
.
Come enjoy and create your own fresh flower crown that you can wear to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos or make it part of your Halloween costume.
