HAPPY HALLOWEEN 🐭👰‍♀🎃

@in2trainingfarnham Halloween ☠️

Thank you @blomquistttx for being our director 🤣 by @oneday_coaching

13 months postpartum. Twin boys. A full-time job. Minimal sleep. And somehow, in amongst all the chaos, I’ve managed to keep showing up, keep training, and sign up for another CrossFit competition… with the fittest person I know as my partner 🤷‍♀️.

I feel incredibly lucky to have found @in2trainingfarnham . I’ve trained at a lot of different gyms over the years, but I’ve never experienced this level of care, support and genuine commitment to mums.

You’ve made me feel seen, strong and capable during what has undoubtedly been one of the most vulnerable seasons of my life.

I’m not quite back to my pre-bab(ies) fitness or strength yet.

But I’m stronger in so many other ways that matter.

(Still working on those competition faces though….💩) by @oneday_coaching

Here’s to all the heroes trying to get jacked, strong, and be a 10/10 mum. WHO’S WITH ME? 💪

Nothing impresses me more than mums who don’t let ‘busy’ get in the way of strong.

Thank you, but there was no luck or “bounce back” after having twins.

Carrying & birthing them took an enormous toll on my body & mind, but I showed up for myself not because I felt like I needed to lose weight but because exercise was the only thing that made me feel like myself again.
A sacred time to feel like Izzy again.

I took my recovery seriously even if it was boring. Even if most of the time I was running on empty or stopped halfway. It was my postpartum lifeline for many months.

Eight months in, twins in tow, and this muscle mummy is slowly rebuilding 👶🏻👶🏻💪

Shoutout to the best gym @in2trainingfarnham making me feel at home from the moment I waddled in at 26 weeks pregnant & have looked after me ever since ❣️

12 years of missing you ❤️ @isabelgday @marilynday4289 @oneday_coaching by @oneday_coaching

Maybe I’ll try RX for 26.1 even though I haven’t done high volume impact exercises since the twins were born.

Getting fitter is just a bonus 😏

Fun fact: At our very first scan when we found out it was twins, the assistant sonographer got so emotional she cried 😭

No one talks about how HARD it is going from feeling empowered in the gym as a pregnant athlete to feeling vulnerable as a postpartum one.

Your body’s out of sync, you’re exhausted, you’re following the rules with your rehab but everything feels boring and slow.

But you keep showing up regardless.
To clear that mental fog
To get the babies out of the house
To get that dopamine hit
To feel like yourself again

The postpartum season is TOUGH but so are you.
Keep showing up.

Things people have said to me this week:

- “You’re not fragile but also not invincible” (very true)

- “You must be hot with two in there” (this heatwave is my nemesis)

- “So impressive seeing you still working out when you’re about to pop” (Most empowered I’ve felt this pregnancy is in a CrossFit gym, people are so encouraging & complimentary. They come up to me all the time to say how amazing it is that I’m still working out. I was worried people would judge me for working out this late in the pregnancy but I’ve not had one single negative comment (to my face at least!)).

- “You’re so stubborn” (Turns out I’m more stubborn pregnant - “I can do it myself” has been my number #1 phrase)

- “One of the twins has lots of hair” 🥹 (Most of the time I don’t even know what I’m looking at during these scans)

- “Are they identical?” (We don’t know for sure)
