80+ years serving the local community (opened in the 1940s)! Support Aunty Karen holding it down at Jane's Fountain! Classic spot located in Liliha!

If you remember, this neighborhood gem fought through and stayed alive during the pandemic to keep the place that many local residents been frequenting for years. Home style cooking local food with a jukebox loaded with classic tracks from Babyface and Atlantic Starr, to name a few, with the bright orange booths, and you can't help but feel the nostalgia. They no more even Instagram (I think?) they so old school lol.

@ice_garden_aiea has been the shave ice king since I was a kid buying and selling cards off the bid boards at Kollectable Treasures right next door!

The number 7 is the top choice for me and the homies, but there's so many different flavors and combos you can do. Smash em all!

If you go here, what's your go to? If not, check em out!

@upscalehawaii "LATE08 EATS" vol. 1

Diners Kalihi is open 24 hours with a huge menu of many fire plates to choose from, AND they got that childhood good good drink, Green River!

This spot always satisfies, and the staff is always willing to Frankenstein the plates for you. Just ask em nicely!

HOT COLD FRIED GINGER CHICKEN from a POKE SHOP?!

At @paradisepokehi in Pearl City, they have a PC only Fried Scallion Ginger Chicken spesh on their specials menu right now. I'm sure the chicken at the manapua shop is good too, but I can say for sure this one is fire. Also, over here you can get fresh poke, pasteles, musubis, and even kulolo snacks at the same time. I mean, no brainer kine tingz in my opinion. It was $19 for this plate and it came with 2 scoop rice and mac, and there was a second layer of chix underneath, so to me it was well worth it.

Remember, PC location only! Check em out!

The best smash burger pop up in Hawaii. 🍔

If you like burgers but haven't tried @mfburgershop yet, do you even really like smash burgers?!

Martin's Potato Roll Buns
Double Australian Wagyu Patties
Onions two time
Pickles
Jalapeños
Special MF sauce

The complete, no bs, straight up classic high quality ingredient smash burger, with beef tallow fries. @tommy__eats doesn't mess around. This burger is only available when it pops up inside of @ryspokehonolulu on Waimanu st., so follow them to know when it's available again, and preorder before it sells out. Don't forget to grab a drink from @drinkjugolife next door too. Li Hing Apple joose is too good.

Would you SMASH? 🍔 by @onlyfoods808

Still one of my favorite non smash burger options. 🍔

Back at Island Vintage Coffee in Kapolei to treat myself to their Wagyu Mushroom Burger. For whatever reason, their bacon onion jam isn't on the mushroom burger, only the wagyu cheeseburger, so definitely don't forget to add that. It's one of the main things that separates this burger from others. I say treat myself because it is pricey, but the volume and fries with salad that comes with it is worth it for a once in a while thing in my opinion.

Do you know to pronounce "Mi Hoanh Thanh Xa Xiu?" 🍜

I don't, but @photime.waipahu just opened in the old Ribs N Broth Waipahu location, and this 2nd location exclusively has Mi Hoanh Thanh Xa Xiu wonton noodle soup, as well as an off the menu BBQ Beef Back Ribs Plate, and Pork Ribs that you can only get here. The Aiea location is still open as well, but now people on this side have an easier time grinding at one of my favorite Vietnamese spots. The owner and his family are always working super hard making solid foods and giving good service, and that's another big reason why I like this place.

Where's your favorite Oxtail? 🍖

The chef at @anasia_sportsbar not only makes my favorite oxtail soup on island, but his entire menu is a collection of top rank comfort foods made from scratch. I've had almost half of the menu so far and loved all of it. I wish I posted the pot roast and loco moco last time I came too. Shout out to my bro @bimose for introducing this food to me. Again, oxtail now available from Thursday through Sunday.

Can you handle a 10 inch sausage? 🌭

Jokes aside, @danjahdog is no joke when it comes to not only flavor, but heat. I tried the danjah sauce at it's original level, and the spice still kicked. It was delicious af too. They also do a regular size Podagee Sausage Dog for the same price as their OG dog, but my bro went in on that beast sized Portuguese sausage dog this round.

The levels go
- Danjah
- Mo Danjah
- Majah Danjah
- Medavack

Obviously if it says medavack I would proceed with caution haha I can't handle that garuntee. My reflux would put me out for like 2-3 business days.

They use artesano bakery sausage rolls with danjah sauce and cheese. I'm not 100% sure exactly what's in the sauce, but I know they throw in more peppers as you climb the latter. Worth the burn though, level 1 is manageable and action packed.

Practicing my long form (no pun intended) content style with this reel so it's a little bit different and longer than usual. I'll be back to samps those burgers too by the way.

Finally went to Masese at Wai Kai in June... didn't know that was their last market.

Anyway, @wasabiexpresshi is one of the vendors you need to try whenever you find em doing their thing at these markets. These guys are my long time homies from Palolo and all this time I never knew they could throw down like this. Automatic smash.

Next is @thesavellanos_lechon with one of the most crispy and flavorful lechon plates. The plate combos are priced reasonably and come with solid sauces and extras depending on the plate you choose.

Oh and don't forget about @yamitsukisenbeioyaji for that giant senbei cracker!

I've tried both of these before, and they smack everytime. I just never posted em because I was just big backin' at the markets. Hopefully @onogrindzandmakeke finds a new spot soon if they haven't already.

"Support Local, SMASH Kulolo"

If you didn't know, @koali_kreations808 got that heat! If you've been following along for a bit you already know I'm in love with kulolooo, so I had to try em. Big mahalos to my pastele lumpia plug @allkine_grindz for guiding me to these. I'll be ordering more in the near future to smash em ala mode style.

Revisited one my og spots tucked away on Ena Rd.

Used to hit up @chibaken_hawaii a lot back in the day with the J homies. Especially since I used to spend a lot of time in Waiks. They have solid happy hours, and although they are mainly known for their sushi, they got a ton of solid meat and non seafood options for me to smash. I know everybody will show you the sushi and sashimi, so here's a reel for the land lovers. Mahalos to my friend for inviting me to revisit this nostalgic stomping ground.
