Fantastic day for many OOB athletes yesterday at @ironmandenmark 70.3 i Elsinore.

And especially to @janettedommer and @louiseschnoorh for taking 1st and 2nd overall and creating a great memory for a semi old coach.🥹

The result is also a great reminder of the beauty in endurance sport.
Two very different athletes, different backgrounds, different lives and different needs in training. Pushing their limits and finishing 4 sec apart. Amazing!

Well done to to all participants fighting not very summerlike conditions! by @ooblife

OOB life update!!!

It has been awfully quiet on my social media the last year.
Reason is focus on our relocation to Madrid.
However its been far from quiet coaching wise.
It has been a great fall and build up and now the season is under way and the results are ticking in.

This weekend Morten Falk Jørgensen had a fantastic performance, crowning him AG Champion in Ironman Hamburg (and second overall) with a PB of 8 hours, 15 minutes!

Vicenc Castella (Coach) got 6th in the Spanish long distance Championship in Oropesa in impressive 8:22 (and 2:47 run split).

Some mighty strong "dad performance" as both Morten and Vicenc are keeping top performance family friendly :)

In Denmark the season also got under way at Herlev triathlon (which is a classic warm up for the bigger races later on) and Janette Dommer and Louise Schoor Hansen got 1. and 2. (just like they did at Ironman Elsingore 70.3 last year).

During the coming weekends it is race season..but remember "You win the fight, long before you dance under the lights". by @ooblife

Race week....

💪🎉🥳 by @ooblife

Race week...

Skal du køre stævne i weekenden, så er du sikkert ved at drukne i detaljer, men jeg håber du vil tage dig tid til at se denne lille video og minde sig selv om hvorfor du begyndte denne rejse til at starte med.

Hola Madrid, Good bye Lima!

Our time in Lima is coming to an end.
1. June my family and I will move to Madrid.

Moving to Lima has been the best challenge my life ever gave me.
Moving to a place where nobody knew me, understood much of my background and passion in life has been a wonderful experience.
I have overcome Identity, culture and language crisis and feel proud to have a Peruvian part of my identity.

I moved to Lima to grow as a person, and to learn the family concept in South America which is something I admire a lot. I leave enriched and thankful!

Now our Danish-Peruvian family will move to Madrid and continue the wonderful adventure that is life.

Thank you Peru ♥️🇵🇪

Great performance by @vicenc_castella at Ironman Cascais!!!

Sub 8:30 💥🚴💯 by @ooblife

Leading by example!

Last weekend I did my first triathlon in 12 years.
@sgrail.country was the perfect event to practice what I preach after becoming a dad and having focused on coaching others in the last years.

I had never done gravel bike, only been to the pool 4 times (amazing how swimming stays with you) but trusted that my running would give me a good experience.
And it was.. amazing actually.

The last years there has been an increased focus on training and longetivity.
Doing races can seem for the young, but research actually shows that have specific goals, doing structured training rather than just being active, is the key to not just improving your odds on your health but also living a happier, healthier and stronger life in years to come.

So YES you will find me on the start line again soon!

See you outthere. by @ooblife

Big win for Silvia Tosca Frades today in Cozumel. 🇲🇽

Despite very limited specific run training, she won her ag with 25 min and 2nd overall age grouper (just some 30 sec shy of overall win).

Some sidenotes. Including pro women, Silvias time was 5th overall (however not really fair to compare that 1:1 but still impressive), only 1 man in her ag managed to bike faster than her (with 1 min).

Up, up and away!!!🤠🚀 by @ooblife

Ironman Italy 9:16:56!!!
Not too bad for anyone and especially not for a woman turning 50 next month!! :)

I have been coaching Janette Dommer for close to 10 years and even I continue to be amazed by this woman.

On Sunday she won her AG, finished 2nd overall and had she raced as a man, she would have been 2nd in her AG there...impressive stuff...but more impressive to think of all the races she has already won, medals she have collected and she stays motivated to push her limits.

Onwards and upwards!!!

Just a perfect day.....

Congrats to all the OOB athletes in Kalmar and Copenhagen this weekend.

A few pictures of some great personal moments.

I personally love these race days..just so much to see athletes cross the finish line, but more to doing their outmost to break their personal limits and reach their goals!

"Winning does not always mean coming in first…real victory is in arriving at the finish line with no regrets because you know you've gone all out.”

Congratulation to all, keep challenging yourself but never forget the smiles redefining your own limits gave you. by @ooblife

What a day....

Challenge Roth, Ironman Nice, La Marmotte and Elginore 70.3...all in same day.

And what performances..personal bests and also plenty of podium.

Just a few mentioned here:

Winner AG Stine Kjellev in Ironman Nice.
Winner AG Janette Dommer Challenge Roth
2. Place AG Louise Schnoor Hansen Elsinore
3. Place AG Søren Furbo Elsinore.

And personal bests and amazing first time performance.

Congratulations...not just on the results but also how each of you achieved them.👌🍾🫶 by @ooblife

Danish AG Sprint Champ for this lactate cowboy.

3 olympic medals (gold, silver, bronze) in 2008, 2012 and 2016 and you would think you were ready to retire from competing..but not this guy.

I had the pleasure of coaching Morten since 2017 and he continues improving.
He did is first ironman in 8 hours and 32 min back in 2018 and is continuing to improve.
This year is all about working on the weakness and then swing for the fenches in Kona next year.
Last year he was ready for the win, but the cruel beauty of competition showed, that even if all you want to control is in pole position, then it is race day that counts.

I did and interview with Morten for our blog a while back. (link below). In that he mentions the great Rocky quote:

“It ain´t about how hard you hit. It´s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done”.

Up, up and away!!!
