After 2 years, 80 shows and 3 drummers… we’ve finally arrived at the end ❤️‍🩹

We started this band only half serious about where we wanted it to go. 6 borderline strangers meeting at 10:30 every Tuesday night to run covers of rock songs didn’t always sound like the perfect recipe to success. But we shared one common goal… we wanted to play live.

So many groups get together just to have creative differences or chemistry issues tear them apart, but sometimes it just clicks. Opal was never the most serious band in town. Whether you’ve seen our lost media TikTok we made before we ever played a gig or the time we almost made our name, “For Her Pleasure”, (yes seriously), the memories left from this band won’t be about the pain in our hearts we feel right now, but rather the laughter we’ve been sharing since January 2024.

This journey has been amazing from start to finish. A big shoutout to @elisabethmelms and @carleymosby for hosting our first ever gig in their basement, our friends @wttn.bloomington for all their help in getting us started and lastly to all the wonderful people @thebluebirdbar . Your love and support never went unnoticed ❤️ We love you all.

Lastly, a big thanks to all of you! Seeing the same faces every week belting the same songs louder and louder never got old. Whether it was a bar crawl with hundreds of people packing the bird, or a $3 Thursday where you really just wanted to stay home… you showed out. Thank you for listening to our music and supporting us.

We’ll never forget this wild ride. Thank you all for being a part of it.

Opal ❤️
