🌍🎭 25 October — World Opera Day

Today, we celebrate the art form that brings together music, drama, language, and human emotion in a truly extraordinary way.

Opera transcends borders, connects cultures, and gives extraordinary voices the power to move audiences around the world.

At ECP-Arts, we celebrate not only the rich tradition of opera, but also the next generation of artists who will shape its future.

Happy World Opera Day! 🎶

One month. Two countries. One career.

ECP‑Arts Edition 2027 is a residential intensive programme built around a single question: what does it actually take to turn a voice into a working career in opera?

24 May – 18 June 2027
3 weeks in Germany · 1 week in Tuscany

What the month gives you:
✅ Live auditions with agencies and casting directors in Germany and Italy
✅ A filmed final recital and a concert in a historic Tuscan theatre
✅ The business of a career — contracts, agencies, self-management
✅Masterclasses on artist representation with Zenaida des Aubris
✅ A faculty of coaches, répétiteurs and conductors still active in the profession

For singers at master’s or post-graduate level — voice formed, ready to step in.

Places are limited and awarded by application.

Apply by 20 December 2026

What does it actually take to bring an opera character to life?

Maestro William C. Cisco — stage director, dramaturge and member of the ECP‑Arts faculty — shares five essential insights that every young singer needs to hear. Not theory. Not technique. The real work that happens between the score and the stage.

Swipe through Part 1 ➡️

1. You are not a simple voice — you are also a living body.
2. Believe in your character like you believe in a close friend.
3. Study their circumstances from the very beginning.
4. Bring your own feelings, memories and fears into the role.
5. Don’t act like them — be them.

Part 2 is coming soon. Follow us and stay tuned.
