Since 05✨ 21stttttt by @orbitoptix

Thank You God.

For the past two weeks, I’ve gone back and forth about writing this. Because truthfully, by every statistic, every setback, every moment I almost gave up… I shouldn’t be here. I shouldn’t be graduating. I shouldn’t have built two successful businesses.

But still I rise.

When I first stepped onto Prairie View A&M University’s campus, I was chasing money, recognition, and success, everything the world said mattered. What I didn’t understand then was that purpose doesn’t come from chasing, it comes from alignment. And alignment takes patience, growth, and faith.

Life had to teach me that.

In the summer of 2024, I faced a moment that shook me. I lost an opportunity that affected not just my career, but my stability. I lost everything and had to move back home to Alabama.

That could’ve been the end, but it wasn’t.

I came to Alabama State University with a different mindset: no distractions, no excuses, just finish. What felt like a loss became redirection.

I earned an internship with the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, and I’m grateful to Mrs. Jeanine Birmingham and her team for believing in me. That opportunity restored my confidence and opened doors into the banking industry.

While rebuilding, I poured into my vision. Pluto’s World became a reflection of resilience. And after years behind the camera, I stepped into my own light and founded Orbit Optix, where I now serve as creative director and CEO.

And to my mother, @malinda.swoope, thank you. No matter how much we argued or disagreed, you never gave up on me. There was always love, and that love carried me when I couldn’t carry myself.

Every setback had a purpose. Every closed door made room for the right one.

Today, I stand as proof.

Proof that setbacks don’t define you.
Proof that losing everything isn’t the end.
Proof that with faith, discipline, and resilience, you can rebuild and win.

No matter how many times you fall… get back up.

I did.

MY testimony.
