I completed "The Kite Runner" today. This is what I felt while Reading it. "The Kite Runner" - It was published in 2003. Khaled Hosseini's debut novel, rather than saying if it is good or bad, I will say, I will read every book he writes. Not because of his literary talent, but solely because he touches upon the subjects I want to know about and he writes with an emotional arc to it. The Story is written from Amir's point of view, starting from his friendship with Hassan and his attempt to gain his father's affection. He has to navigate through life as Afghanistan descends into chaos. Amir's character have to deal with betrayal, guilt, suffering and redemption. Every character's hardship and trauma is shown through Amir’s troubled conscience. The friendship between Amir and Hassan poses a very uncomfortable question , " Do you have the courage to be 'Hassan' in someone else's story? " Are you a person who stands up for others or for yourself naturally or just out of guilt ? Do you have the courage to be like 'Ali' or do you need a 'Ali" in your life to become 'baba'? Do you have the courage to question your Religion based on reason and humanity or you just follow your religion without caring whatever happens to humanity? How much propaganda does it take for a whole population of a country to submit to Theocracy? How to save them? How did a vast majority of population allowed Child abuse as normal phenomenon? How did they decide women are not humans and they need to be caged? How did "Ethnic cleansing" became natural in a country? And the biggest question "How such things are legal in the twenty first Century?" Where do We stand now and can we be sure that we won't a see a future like that for ourselves-"Being Legally Suppressed, and stripped out of our natural Rights?" Hosseini,s way of writing makes me feel like watching a Bollywood movie. It has bliss, trauma, hope, gut-wrenching moments and a lot of twists and turns yet wrapped up so neatly. If I have to rate : Plot 4/5 Pacing, 3.8/5 Language3.5/5 Theme 4.7/5 Overall 4./5 #thekiterunner #khaledhosseini #booktalk by @ordinary_days901

Today as I fastened my shoes , I asked if I could bear my own silence. I thought of going outside without earphones. But I couldn't gather courage for this. So I simply put on my earphones but didn't play any music. And guess what!!! I enjoyed the walk more. I noticed people, their conversations, recognised some familiar faces, felt the morning breeze and captured some flowers. It gave me time to be present at the moment, space to my thoughts and courage to accept myself a little more. by @ordinary_days901

Somewhere I read, It's hard to find a carefree woman. The more I think about it the more it seems true. The women in our lives always carry the baggage of doing something for others at the expense of themselves. . But I want to see women relaxing without feeling guilty. I want to see a woman enjoying her own company. . Sometimes I wish to be her. . I referred to pinterest for inspiration. . . #acrylicpainting by @ordinary_days901
