Thank you to the James Beard Foundation @beardfoundation for this honor. Being named Best New Bar in the country is a surreal moment for us because LOMA is us all of us on this stage. For the last year, we’ve worn every hat imaginable. We work every day, fixe broken equipment, answer emails at midnight, take our daughter to school, and then turn around and welcome guests with a smile. Like so many small businesses, there was never anyone waiting in the wings to save us if things didn’t work out. We come from immigrant and working class families and were raised by people who taught us the value of hard work, but also understood how dangerous it can feel to take a chance on yourself when failure isn’t just disappointing. it’s something we can’t afford. Opening LOMA felt like betting everything we had on an idea and ourselves. We knew a 16 seat bar wouldn’t make us rich but we do this because we believe in our traditions, we believe in the stories, and that the hospitality of our cultures deserve to be celebrated with pride. This award belongs to our families, whose sacrifices made these opportunities possible. It belongs to our team of five, who chose to believe in this dream even when it felt impossible. And it belongs to everyone who has ever wondered whether they were qualified enough, connected enough, or secure enough to pursue what they love. (sometimes) Courage is being terrified and doing it anyway. Thank you to our guests, our community in Providence, and everyone who has supported us along the way. And to every immigrant and working class kid watching tonight- there is room for your story at this table. Special Thank You: Sam Duckett @transomstudiowoodworks Becky Carter @studiobeckycarter Hector, Kat, and Eva Cortave Bao Vu and Chris of @k__zao Thank you every single guest and friend we’ve made, your belief and support has energized us and made us who we are, thank you for being a part of the LOMA family. Thank you to every restaurant and bar we’ve had the honor of working and collaborating with. Love you all. Nos vemos muy pronto ❤️ 📸 @ultraclay , Getty Images, Osman’s Old IPhone by @osmansofa

Not going to say that James Beard is behind the curve, but the Dave Stewart awards aren’t a thing (yet!). So much love to the @loma_bar @elcrunk @osmansofa @yef.co on their finalist nomination. by @osmansofa

What a packed weekend of family time in celebration of our little (big) girl, so grateful that we were able to pull off such a fun couple of days, given everything going on. Cela, I’m forever grateful to be your “daddy”, it’s been a beautiful journey watching you grow. Watching you just be a kid, enjoying life, being curious, always optimistic, rolling with the punches, having fun, and growing up. I’m thankful for your unconditional love, your kindness, and your trust. As you grow older I’ve been trying to make it a point to sit back and reflect more on the moments, all the special moments that come and go way too fast. I miss taking you to the sprinklers and grabbing gelato in the north end, exploring different neighborhoods in Boston where you grew to enjoy walking (I think?), I miss throwing you on my shoulders while running to catch a train. I smile thinking of your journey into reading, crushing book after book, from pinkalicious to chapter books. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to teach you and to guide you, me and mommy are so proud of you. I love you cela, for all you learned from us, I’ve learned so much more from you. You push me to be the best dad I can possibly be, and push me to be a better human every day. You teach me to stay creative, do more, have fun, be kind, and always enjoy life’s magic. You always used to tell us you want to stay a kid forever.. let’s do it together my love. I look forward to many more years of fun, growth, and love; and can’t to see you grow into the bright, happy, compassionate, talented, self-sufficient leader I know you can be (and already are!) Happy first decade my little egg head. Love Always, Daddy by @osmansofa

Happy Birthday Week You show us what it is to be human, but to also push for greatness & success. Talented but graceful. Strong but vulnerable. I love to hear cela talk about her mami. She’s watched all you’ve done, all you do, how you keep pushing, and most importantly- how you do it all with love. I hear the pride, love, and confidence in her voice. Deep down through you, she’s learning there’s no limits, that “yes she can”, and that she can lead with joy, compassion, and love. The worlds lucky to have you. To many more Leish <3 by @osmansofa
