What’s the saying? If not broke don’t fix it? Don’t reinvent the wheel?ad I really wanted to create a cosy feel to this corner and the spot lights are too bright but the lamp on its own wasn’t doing enough. So I’ve reverted back to an oldie but a goodie that is this hack! I just think adding led lights to the back of your mirror elevates it so much and has created that perfect cosy mood lighting. It’s been two weeks and I still can’t believe I get to call this home… but it’s not staying like this. I absolutely love it here and feel so very content - but we have lots we want to do like a full repaint, adding beams to the ceiling, changing the wardrobe in our bedroom and making the building in the garden a gym. But for now, this is our home with some new bits of furniture and there is so much more to reveal to you over the next few weeks that I can’t reveal just yet 🤫 we’re talking panelling, a new sofa, a boucle bed of dreams and some hidden gems.We have moved to Gloucestershire and when we saw this house we just knew it was the one, the views are like something I’ve dreamed of and even on the windiest days create a feeling of calm. We love that the house is a conversion and anything we do is out of choice and not a need.It’s a converted Grain Store hence the name and is all on one floor, I weirdly thought I’d miss stairs but I’m used to it already. We have a couple of other parts to it which I will share with you at a later date. Oh and the drone footage is a snippet of a full video which we have and I will share more of soon. by @annaellens_

✨2022✨“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen” I didn’t rely on the universe… I relied on me! In January 2022, I had less than 40k followers on Instagram and hadn’t started a Tiktok page. I set myself goals for the year never did I think I would end the year by leaving my job as a head of a teaching centre to become a full time content creator. 2023 won’t be easy, it will test me more, challenge me more but I am so ready for it. It’s also the year Tom and I get married…One thing I really believe in is not comparing your year to anyone else’s, we are all on a different path and a different journey. This year hasn’t been easy but I had a goal and target and I was determined to meet it. The challenges that we face help to shape us onto stronger people. Now in 2023 I need to prove all the people who thought/think I am mad to leave my job wrong and work to achieve my goals. ✨ Starting with the launch of my first ebook ‘styling your home on a budget’- available now- link in bio ✨ by @annaellens_

Ad | Already planning Olivia’s August birthday and this garden table has me so excited to host 🌿☀️ It goes from a compact everyday table to seating the whole group in seconds and it looks incredible. Ad | People said we were mad keeping our UK house while living in Dubai. Turns out it just takes a bit of setting up. One of the smartest things I’m sorting is the energy. I’ve looked into E Gas as they make it so easy to manage from abroad, their smart App provides live balances so I always know what’s going on, and I can Top-Up via App, Website, Text, Phone or In store wherever I am. No exit fees either and after 12 months you get a £50 credit as a thank you. Plus no standing charges, so when we’re not using energy, we’re not paying. Oh my god! The BEST renter upgrade we’ve done so far! The difference this has made to the not just the kitchen but the whole of this space too. Absolutely in love with this change; we got the kitchen wrapped by @novawrap.dubai and it was completed in under 2 days (this isn’t an ad - this is a very happy paying customer). Dubai week 2 ~ we’ve only gone and done it.Finally feeling like I can breathe and post again! We’ve gone from a completely empty villa to garden chairs in the living room to a fully furnished home in a few days because in Dubai pretty much everything gets delivered quickly AND assembled for you. Still not over the fact we’ve haven’t argued about what screw goes where! No surprise we’ve kept it minimal downstairs dark woods and earthy tones which is a dream with Olivia because there’s far less to baby proof. Evening pool swims have already become our thing and I honestly never want them to end 🤍Let me know what you want to see next? Two weeks yesterday since we moved to Dubai. We’ve kept downstairs really minimal; dark woods, earthy tones and honestly it’s been a dream with Olivia because there’s so much less to baby proof. We are adding some @contempee trees obviously but do you like the new look so far?I keep walking past the living room and just stopping. Omg! I can’t not tell you how excited I was for this Ikea haul to arrive! Part 1.Comment SHOP and I will DM you my IKEA shop. Starting from scratch is not for the faint hearted and baby brain with jet lag means I missed a lot off this first shop; dinner plates being one of them! So I had to do a part 2. I’ve wanted this dining set for ages so I couldn’t resist getting it in the villa and how cute are those espresso cups?We’ve done loads this week, another big ikea shop, canvases, kitchen being wrapped, new coffee table, sofas, bedside tables. It’s all happening. Because practical can pretty - Bathroom edit. One thing about me is I hate practical looking things so I’ve stopped trying to hide all the practical bits in my bathroom; now I just choose pieces that actually look goodComment BATHROOM for linksEverything’s super affordable, but still gives that high-end, hotel bathroom feel.The piece on slide 7 is such a good example: instantly elevates a really basic everyday item, and would honestly look good in any room.Matching, minimal, a bit more intentional… it just makes the whole space feel calmer and more put together by @annaellens_
