NEW: Zavala County deputy drags 67-year-old women across the dirt as her son is arrested

On October 3, Zavala County deputies pulled into a front yard behind Roman Robles, who was driving with a suspended license.

Deputies say he resisted and tried to flee.

His mother, 67-year-old Maria Robles, then interfered and assaulted a deputy.

Video shows Deputy Athan Aguilar pulling her by the arm across the dirt before handcuffing her.

Roman was arrested on assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, and interference. Maria was released pending further investigation on similar allegations.

Aguilar previously resigned from the Uvalde Police Department after the agency found he violated its rules of conduct.

Texas Rangers are investigating.
