Kindergarten ❤️ It’s going so much better than I imagined! 🥹 One of my biggest concerns was whether Millie would have the stamina to make it through a full 7hr school day, especially since she was still napping throughout the summer! But she has completely surprised me. Not only is she making it through the day, but she’s coming home happy, not completely exhausted, and is still ready for afternoon activities and therapy! 🙌🏼 And it’s not just her endurance that’s making me smile. When I pick her up, I see so many new faces approaching her to say goodbye. She comes home talking about new friends, and her teachers have shared that she’s doing well overall! They say she’s following routines, is super social, and is keeping up academically (handwriting is her biggest hurdle). I’m so grateful she’s in a school that gives her the opportunity to learn alongside her typically developing peers, while giving her the supports she needs. A classroom where she gets to learn from them, and they get to learn from her too. I am so proud of how far she’s come🥹 (swipe for her first ever school picture two years ago). #downsyndromeawareness #inclusion
