I’m honestly not even sure where to start this post…….. My heart is so overcome with gratitude and emotion this morning. I can barely type these words. But today, after immense heartbreak and devastation that should have taken me out, I get to tell you the story of the greatest unfolding that I never could have planned or orchestrated in my own power. What you will read is actually the fourth version of this book. The first version was in my head during my divorce. I wanted to tell you all of the terrible things that were done to me. The second version is the story. I started writing when I thought I would self publish. The third version was after I had an agent. And it started with the terrible things that happened. And we were rejected by every publisher. This is the version our Father wants you to read. I bring you through the beautiful story of renovating my 1926 cottage alongside the renovation of my life. There are definitely twist and turns built-in. But it’s my hope that this book inspires you to find your own bright side, despite immense heartache, grief, or trials. But if you somehow have skipped through life without that, I this book will inspire you to live your life in a way that shows kindness, determination, grit and glory. Here is The Bright Side of the Other Side for the world to read. Type BOOK if you want the link to start reading today. We had the most beautiful book launch party this past weekend. Thank you thank you to all who came out to celebrate. Thank you to @nivenmorgan for blessing everyone with products. 💗 Thank you @jdblase @thebindery.agency @lisajobaker @wpublishing @thomasnelson @harpercollinschristian @harpercollins for believing in me. 💗😭💗😭 Ephesians 3:20 and Romans 8:28 came true for me and it will come true for you too. I believe that with my whole heart. MAPS Turned 40! Stan Grof. Legend. One of the OG pioneers of psychedelic medicine + healing. A founder of transpersonal psychology, explorer of altered states of consciousness, creator of Holotropic Breathwork. 95 years old + out celebrating MAPS’ 40th..! With my friend + another hero, Rick Doblin, founder + president of MAPS. FORTY years pushing psychedelic healing uphill..! With heart, humanity, + a profound belief in a world with less trauma & suffering. Michael & Annie Mithoefer, pioneering MAPS therapists who helped develop the MDMA-assisted therapy protocols for PTSD~work that changes and saves lives. Dr. Janis Phelps, founder + director of the Center for Psychedelic Therapies and Research at California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), friend, & visionary leader. And in these photos from years past, Rick with more psychedelic giants: Albert Hofmann, who discovered LSD’s psychedelic properties, + Ann and Sasha Shulgin, pioneering researchers whose work with MDMA helped illuminate its therapeutic potential. Standing amongst these giants was humbling, to say the least. FORTY YEARS of MAPS. Of science, advocacy, courage, persistence, & refusing to give up. Here’s to the next forty..! Because of Rick, MAPS, these legends, and SO many extraordinary humans in that room, we are closer to a future where these medicines may be approved and accessible for therapeutic healing. *& of course, my Love, who none of this would be possible without & sure as hell not nearly as fun 😍 This world we’ve found our way into, + ALL the humans who have dedicated their lives to it = thrilling, & so damn meaningful. ❤️ **something I’ll ALWAYS make crystal clear: Psychedelic healing is serious, potentially life-changing work. These powerful compounds can also carry real risks. Safe set and setting, skilled therapeutic care, and ethical responsibility are ESSENTIAL. Without them, experiences can be unsafe and harmful. I advocate for SAFE, responsible, professionally guided psychedelic-assisted therapy in appropriate, safe contexts as these medicines become available. HOW we bring this healing into the world matters as much as the medicines themselves. 🙏 #MAPS
