HU Staff: Ariela Anís @ari.anis PRAYERS: Singer Amanda Perez is reminding fans to put their health first as she reveals she’s been recovering in the hospital after suffering multiple strokes. On Friday (October 16), the “Angel” singer took to her Instagram to update fans about her hospitalization and subsequent cancelled shows. ___________________________________________________ Wile sitting in a hospital bed, she said, “Hello everyone, I’m making this video not only for my fans for this weekend. I had shows coming up Denver, Colorado, Orlando, Florida, but just to bring awareness for the past few weeks I’ve been sick and anybody that knows me knows that I’m such a strong person and that I kind of fight through everything no matter what. But this time I can’t. I’m in the hospital because I’ve had a few strokes. My family has a history of heart problems. My father died of a stroke. His sister died of heart problems. His father passed away from heart problems very young.” ___________________________________________________ Perez continued, “I want people to know that you need to get checked no matter what age you are. I’m going to work on getting better. I want you guys all to know that I love you and I would never never just cancel a show because out of all the years that I’ve done this I’ve never done that....My wife will keep everybody updated. I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m grateful for all you fans and I love you very much.” Perez’s wife, Stephanee Cabrera Perez, also posted to her own Instagram account. On her page, she reposted the singer’s video. She also shared a video of her laying with and consoling the singer in the hospital bed. She continued to share videos of the two while adding emojis. Rapper Baby Bash also spoke out to share prayers for Perez. ___________________________________________________ Click the link in bio for full story 📸 Instagram
💔😭 SHE LOOKED IN THE MIRROR… AND THE WOMAN STARING BACK AT HER FELT LIKE A STRANGER. Sayo used to know who she was. She had dreams, laughter, and a sense of herself she could recognize. But since giving birth, something has changed. 😢 Her body feels different. Her emotions are overwhelming. Even on the days she tries to hold herself together, she struggles to understand the woman she sees in the mirror. And the hardest part? She doesn’t know how to explain what’s happening to her. 💔 Is Sayo losing herself… or is she silently struggling with something no one around her understands? 🎬 WHEN SILENCE HURTS — EPISODE 3: THE WOMAN IN THE MIRROR 🚨 STOP SCROLLING. Postpartum depression is real, and a mother’s struggle doesn’t always look the way people expect. She can love her baby and still need help finding herself again. ❤️‍🩹 👇 Tell me: When a new mother says she doesn’t feel like herself anymore, should we tell her to “be strong” — or stop, listen, and help her? Let’s break the silence, one story at a time. ❤️ #WhenSilenceHurts #PostpartumDepression #MaternalMentalHealth #NollywoodStories #BreakTheSilence
