Leave a 💙 if you agree that the era of slowing down is here. Loved speaking at the @_thewellnessoasis event in London a few weeks back.

Sending love to all 🙏🏽

A song about emotional independence, self-reliance, and the courage to choose freedom over toxic relationships. While the title might sound melancholic, the lyrics actually argue that being single and lonely is far better than giving up your personal agency to a bad romance. Lines like "Owner of a lonely heart / Much better than an owner of a broken heart" serve as a powerful reminder that keeping your heart intact—even if it means being alone for a while—is a position of strength, offering you the space to heal, grow, and control your own destiny.

Yes changed the sound of progressive rock with “Owner of a Lonely Heart,” released in 1983. With its instantly recognizable guitar riffs, punchy production, and experimental sound, the song became the band’s biggest hit and introduced their music to a whole new generation of listeners.

The sharp guitar cuts, electronic effects, and driving rhythm give the track a futuristic edge that still sounds fresh today. Jon Anderson’s distinctive vocals glide over the powerful arrangement, creating a unique blend of progressive rock, pop, and new wave that made the song stand out in the ’80s.

More than four decades later, “Owner of a Lonely Heart” remains one of those songs you recognize from the very first few seconds. It’s bold, unconventional, and unforgettable, proving that some music never stops pushing boundaries.

Most coverage hands you one side. I asked The Signal for the rarer thing: the honest, multi-angle picture of what’s really driving the Russia–Ukraine war. Not one simple reason — a tangle of history, security fears, energy, identity, and great-power rivalry, seen differently depending where you stand. Not sides, not propaganda — just the deeper forces, so you can think for yourself. 👁️ 👇 Follow Awakening Signals for more.
