One day, naturalist Joe Hutto finds sixteen wild turkey eggs left on his porch in a dog bowl. He incubates them, waits for them to hatch, and makes sure his face is the first thing they see. Just like that, he’s their mother.

For the next 18 months, he lives alongside them in the Florida flatwoods. They follow him everywhere, he learns their calls, and gradually realises how much these birds understand about the forest that he doesn’t. They can sense a rattlesnake before he’s spotted it, and recognise a hawk from a harmless bird at a distance he can barely see.

By the end, I was ridiculously invested in the lives of sixteen turkeys.

Calling serving personnel to join political protests is reckless, not revolutionary.
Naming, targeting or intimidating ideological opponents is not accountability—it is mob behaviour.
Protest, question and disagree—but do it with facts, evidence and lawful action.
India will not be shaped by online threats, lists or manufactured outrage.

high-functioning women on the weekend 👇🏼

if you do this, your body hella needs it, so INDULGE!

seriously, let yourself move slow (or not move at all)...

if this happens to you once in a while (like one day per month) there’s nothing wrong at all

but if you’re in a pattern of doing this every weekend, your nervous system is super overloaded and depleted

and it’s ok! you can def bring it back into a regulated state so you don’t crash out every weekend (just once in a while instead)

instead of forcing yourself to come out of this, you’ll want to do tiny movements in bed that bring your body back into a state of regulation

do you want to get your energy back (without having to get out of bed)? 👇🏼

comment REGULATE to get an the somatic exercises to regulate your nervous system and get your energy back 💖✌🏼💖
