Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) is now playable directly in a web browser, complete with online multiplayer support. 🏎🤯

A fan-made project called NFSMW Online has brought the legendary racing game to modern browsers, allowing players to explore Rockport, compete in online races, escape police pursuits, and progress through their own careers without installing the original game.

The project also features multiplayer free roaming, vehicle customization, leaderboards, and individual saved progress. Players can create an account and jump into the action through Chrome or Edge, with the developers continuing to release updates and improvements.

The project is unofficial and still in development, so performance and compatibility may vary. Its long-term availability is also uncertain.

A 21-year-old racing game running directly in your browser with multiplayer support would’ve sounded ridiculous a few years ago.

Who remembers playing this game back in 2005? 👀

An evening well spent. Always with a curiosity of a child.
