This evening, the best kind of elephant rescue unfolded — one that ended with a little life saved and a wild family kept together. A young calf was found flailing inside a septic tank, trapped and unable to free herself. The Keepers from our nearby Voi Reintegration Unit raced to the scene, alongside the SWT/KWS Tsavo Mobile Vet Unit. Together, the team made a plan: they used a bowser to fill the tank with water, which floated the calf to a manageable level from which she could be pulled to solid ground. It was the moment her mother had been waiting for. The herd had remained in the area, panicky but clearly not yet giving up hope. The reunion at the end speaks for itself — sound up to hear the trumpets of joy! — It’s not always possible to return a trapped calf to its family — often, the herd has given up and left the area by the time it is discovered — which makes this reunion all the more wonderful. But whether it’s a rescue or a reunion, our team will be there to help. We will also ensure this particular tank is covered to prevent a repeat incident. sheldrickwildlifetrust.org —— © Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

Sutton riding the little dinosaur was PRECIOUS! 🦖🥹 backstory ::: We celebrated Sutton’s birthday with a dinosaur theme! Sutton has always been a growler since she was born, so we always call her our little dinosaur. Because of that, we have ended up with Dino toys and plushies, and so we thought it was fitting to give her a Tea-Rex party! 🥹🦖 We worked with a bunch of small local businesses to create the most perfect little party for her. We had all kinds of activities for her to play with, and the party ended up being so fun! It’s crazy that Sutton is already a year old! She has grown so fast, and has learned so much. We love our little dinosaur and are so glad that we get to be her parents! 🥹🩷 If you live in the DFW area, these are our favorite small businesses that we always use for events like this! They are all AMAZING! 🥹🤩 Planning: @modernpartycompany Photographer: @monicareyesphotography Venue: @urbanfirehouse Balloons: @balloontherapy Custom Builds & Prop Rentals: @glopartyandco Catering: @knifeandfaulk Photo Booth & Key Chain Bar: @luxyboothco Kids Table & Chairs: @luckysevencreations Acrylic: @castiestudio Softplay: @dfw_softplay_experience Cake & Treats: @cakedbyshef_ Marquee Letters: @alphalitfortworth Dresses: @coraandviolet
Now women can’t even wear shorts to the gym without being called names on national TV? ⠀ Pennsylvania comedian Shane Gillis sparked backlash online after his Saturday Night Live monologue, in which he joked that women at the gym dress like “wh*res” and that men aren’t allowed to look because women are filming. ⠀ “Schitt’s Creek” co-creator Dan Levy responded Sunday with an Instagram video criticizing the remarks and calling on more men to defend women. ⠀ Actresses Elizabeth Banks and Hannah Einbinder were among those who voiced support for Levy. ⠀ What do you think?
