Jade & Ayla

I've been reluctant to post these clips in fear of people attacking us parents without understanding Jades story, but here it is. (Video from first track day)
Jade decided she wanted to drive a racecar at about 4. She asked for a while before we took it seriously and looked into the possibility of her doing it. Once we learned about quarter midgets we told her she'd have to wait til she was 5 to race. This little girl mentioned it to us daily, for months, that she was gonna drive a racecar when she was 5. We were blessed with help from one of her sponsors to help us get her a car, and the ball was rolling!
Her excitement towards driving hasn't stopped, and as parents, we haven't pushed her into this, but as her father, I damn sure won't let her back down because of nerves. I'm amazed by her ability to fight through her fears to do what she sets her mind to. In just 4 races, she has made tremendous progress and is always excited to get in her car. With that said, she's nervous every time she gets in it, and I think that's a good thing. For many reasons.
The lifelong lessons she is gaining through all of this are worth every little bump we've hit and will continue to come across.
