You should have seen the play when the residents of Gee's Bend put it on. It's so authentic to see/hear it from their perspective. The language and mannerisms are so unique. Good luck with your performance

A few of the quilters occasionally teach workshops at Kentuck Art Center in Northport, AL, and they’ve been attending the Kentuck Festival of the Arts for many years. We’re always happy to host them! 💗 @gees_bend

They’re in museums and galleries around the world and considered some of the most magnificent pieces of contemporary art in existence. They’ve recently started doing collabs with fashion designers including Greg Lauren and Chloe, and their pieces have been shown at Paris fashion week. In Oct they host the Airing of the Quilts Festival where they invite everyone to visit Gee’s Bend & learn about quilting. Follow them here: @gees_bend @geesbendquiltmakers
