Utterly devastated to wake up to the news of the great Ciara Mageean’s passing this morning. It’s so hard to believe that this incredible woman, pictured here just one week ago at her amazing & joyful wedding, is no longer with us.

I only got to know Ciara for such a short time but felt such a connection. I’m sure most of the photos shared today will be of her unbelievable sporting achievements and rightfully so. But I just knew her as a bride who was going to celebrate her wedding to the man she loved more than anyone and to throw a big party for her best friends and family and nothing was going to stop her. I saw a woman facing incredible odds pulling every ounce of energy she could summon to make sure everyone had the best day. Getting out of the makeup chair to give me the biggest hug. Helping to round up family members for the family photos, handing out sparklers in the evening and taking part in the Poc Fada. At the start of the morning I had no idea if she’d have enough energy to be able to go through with even the ceremony. Yet here she is pictured near the end of the night, fist raised in triumph, surrounded by the beautiful energy and love of her people. When I said goodnight to her on Sunday she gave me one more amazing hug and told me she’d love to meet up for a coffee next time she was up in Dublin. How I wish that could have been.

A sad day for Ireland, a hero lost. My heart goes out to her incredible family who surrounded her with so much love (but also incredible craic) and to her beloved Tommy. Thinking of you all.

Get ready with me para CASARMEEEE!

Things I’m insecure about that you’d probably NEVER guess from my Instagram… ➡️

And honestly? Some of these are so ridiculous that I can’t believe I’m admitting them.. But I know what it does for other women to read some reality, as it can in a weird way, feel refreshing in a world full of fake social media craziness.

What my skin looks like sometimes. 🍓
Especially when I’m not on birth control pills or when I’m changing it.

Yep, acne is very much a part of my reality too.

And while I know it’s completely normal, that doesn’t mean I always feel confident about it.

Funny how I can look at another girl with acne and think absolutely nothing of it and often don’t even see it!! As I’m focusing too much on what’s beautiful about her.

But when it’s my own skin? Suddenly my brain has opinions.

They’re naturally a little more sunken, which you probably wouldn’t even notice.👀

But the second I look down? THERE THEY ARE!!

I’ve had people online asking things like “why do you always look stoned?” or “Girl, you need some sleep.”

And honestly, those comments affected me more than I expected.

Because sometimes someone points out something you barely noticed before..

And suddenly it’s something you can’t STOP noticing.
So be kind, it’s free xx

These are the veins on my legs. 🦵

I find them pretty noticeable, and I’ve spent WAY too much time being insecure about them.

I even catch myself checking whether any new ones have appeared on a daily.. As I have them on my shins, quads, hamstrings and calfs since I used a very high dose birth control pill for a longer period of time, and it became way worse in a very short time (it’s also not available in NL anymore but it did magic for my acne)

And this is probably the hardest one to admit.⚖️

Especially as a certified personal trainer.

I sometimes weigh myself more often than I know is healthy, and catch myself checking my body in ways I KNOW aren’t good for me.

Pretty ironic, isn’t it?

I encourage thousands of girls to love and appreciate their bodies, while sometimes struggling to show myself that exact same kindness.

Knowing better doesn’t automatically mean feeling better.

But I’m working on it. Really h
