Think of someone you care about. Pick someone that naturally makes you smile. Maybe it’s a good friend or a relative… it might even be your pet. Picture them experiencing happiness. Did that make you smile?
MUDITA is Sanskrit word that translates to “sympathetic joy” or “altruistic joy.”
It means “the joy or happiness that comes from witnessing the success and well-being of others.”
How does MUDITA help YOUR happiness?
It trains your mind to:
— Recognize happiness more easily (in your life, and in the lives of others)
— Treat happiness as an important experience
— Rejoice and feel more fulfilled by joy
