🇭🇹🇺🇸 « We love President Trump » — but does Trump love Haitians back?

A group of Haitians sent Donald Trump a video message expressing their love for him, in a post shared by Magazin Peyanm.

The video is striking — because Trump’s record on Haitians tells a very different story:

• In 2018, he reportedly called Haiti a « shithole country » in the Oval Office.
• His administration ended Temporary Protected Status for ~350,000 Haitians - upheld by the Supreme Court in June 2026 - and deportation flights to Haiti began in August.
• In 2024, he and JD Vance spread the debunked claim that Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio were eating people’s pets — putting an entire community in danger.

Love is not always returned. Haitians deserve leaders who respect them — not just their votes.

What do you think? 👇

Rahul Gandhi was detained by Delhi Police near Jantar Mantar on Wednesday as INDIA bloc MPs attempted to stage another protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, triggering chaotic scenes in the heart of the capital.

Visuals showed police personnel surrounding Opposition leaders as Rahul Gandhi was pulled towards a bus and taken into custody. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was also seen lying on the road during the face-off, while several MPs and protesters resisted police attempts to remove them from the area.

The Opposition had planned a sit-in at Jantar Mantar after MPs gathered for lunch hosted by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge at Janpath. They later boarded buses towards the protest site, but police stopped the vehicles around 100 metres away amid heavy barricading and deployment of security personnel.

INDIA bloc MPs alleged that police personnel beat and manhandled them while stopping them from reaching Jantar Mantar. A video shared by Congress showed Gandhi being detained as Opposition leaders made the allegations. Police had not immediately confirmed the MPs’ claims of being beaten.

Security across the New Delhi district has remained tight amid continuing demonstrations. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita are in force in parts of the district, restricting unauthorised gatherings, processions and demonstrations. The restrictions are sometimes described as a “curfew”, but they are not a blanket curfew across Delhi.

The confrontation comes just a day after Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and several Opposition leaders were detained following a nearly nine-hour protest near the Election Commission headquarters. They were later released.

Opposition parties have been protesting against the Election Commission over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, alleging wrongful deletion of voters and demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. The Election Commission and the government have rejected Opposition accusations of electoral manipulation.
